Make a Decorated Heart Envelope For Valentine's Day

Why not make your own heart envelope this year for Valentine's Day. This is a simple craft project your kids will love to make. Write a special message on a sheet of paper and put it into this beautiful envelope. It's easy to make with these simple step by step picture tutorial. This is an easy craft for beginners, experienced crafters will have no problem with it at all.

Your love letter will look so gorgeous in this envelope. You might have the craft materials in your home already. It's inexpensive too, so you can make lots of them if you like. Be sure to read all the directions and gather all the supplies you need so you won't have to stop once you begin.

Here's what you will need to make your heart envelope for Valentine's Day:

  • 3 Pieces Of Construction Paper - 1 Red, 1 White, 1 Beige
  • Crochet Thread
  • A Pair Of Scissors
  • Hot Glue Gun And Glue

Step 1

Gather 1 red, 1 white, 1 beige piece of construction paper, scissors, hot glue gun and glue, and some crochet thread

Step 1: Take the beige construction paper and cut out a big heart

Cut a heart shape out of the beige construction paper.

Step 2: Fold the two outer sides of your cut out heart. Fold on the left and the right areas of the upper part of the heart. Take a look at the picture.

Take the sides of the heart and fold them in towards the middle...take a look at the picture

Step 3: Now fold the upper part of your paper heart towards you. This fold should be 2/3 the total height of the heart. It should touch the bottom end of the first fold you made.

Step 4: Fold the end tip, the bottom part of your heart, up towards the curved part of the heart. Take a look at the picture to see exactly where you should fold your heart. second fold. In the pictures you can see how you are making an envelope.

Step 5: Cut a small heart shape from the pink construction paper.

Get the pink construction paper and cut out a heart shape.  Now get the red construction paper and cut out a bigger heart shape...

Step 6: Cut a larger heart shape from the red construction paper.

Step 7

Glue the pink heart on to the red heart.

Step 7: Glue the pink heart in the middle of the red heart. Center the pink heart so it is right in the middle of the red heart. This is going to be the closing mechanism of your heart envelope. How's it looking so far? If you need to check one of the steps out, just look at the pictures.

Start at the bottom of your heart and glue the string up

Step 8: Take the end of the crochet thread and glue it to the back of the heart. Start at the bottom part of the heart and glue it up.

Glue the heart shape to the flap of your envelope

Step 9: Hot glue the heart to the flap of your heart envelope.

Step 10

Wrap your string around the envelope a couple times

Step 10: Wrap the thread around the envelope to close it.

Step 11

When you like how it looks and how many times you've wrapped the crochet thread around the envelope, cut the thread
