Fascinating information,Sunsix! I was aware that chess originated in India ,but that India was the first hub of algebra,trigo and calculus is quite amazing.I know that the buddhists developed proof of the pythagoras theorum through algebra,geometry and trogonometry even before pythagoras himself did.

Very interesting. Well done. I saw an interesting movie about Indian-Americans--"Namesake" from the Novel by Jhumpa Lahiri, directed by Mira Nair. A bit of a downer buy quite a good movie.
