Barbecue sauce and pork burgers
Barbecue sauce
This easy to make sauce will have your friends and family drooling with pleasure and make you feel proud to have made it for them.
Sauce.
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt.
Mix together and simmer to reduce the volume by half.
Cool.
In a frying pan simmer
1 large chopped onion
2 cloves chopped garlic
3 sticks chopped celery
A pinch of salt
Cook until all ingredients are softened
Cool down.
Put the sauce and the onion/celery mixture in a blender and blitz them into a smooth paste.
Put the barbecue sauce back on the heat and add a dessert spoon of worcester sauce, a dessert spoon of chilli sauce and simmer until reduced to a thick paste.

Pork burgers
For the burgers use a pound of chopped pork shoulder
a quarter pound of breadcrumbs
1 large chopped onion
2 teaspoons of salt
a teaspoon of black pepper.
1 egg
a tablespoonful of chopped thyme
A pack of sliced cheese
Blend everything except the cheese in a food processor.
Form the meat into patties and put in the refrigerator for an hour to firm up.
Fry the burgers, or better still put them on the barbecue, and when half cooked, add the barbecue sauce by spreading it on the patties.
Keep cooking and spreading until cooked through.
Place a slice of cheese on top of each pork burgerand allow to melt or put under the grill.
That's a real burger.
