6. Nerja, Costa del Sol, Andalusia

Nerja has 16 kilometers of beaches with powdery sand and sparkling clear water. All major water sports are available here, including water skiing, scuba diving and sailing. The heart of Nerja is its spectacular Balcón de Europa, the "Balcony of Europe", a magnificent promenade along the edge of a towering cliff, with sweeping panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the small coves and beaches below, against an awesome backdrop of hazy blue mountains shooting it into the list of Best Beaches in Spain.

7. Playa del Silencio, Asturias

The Playa del Silencio Beach is very clean and sandy. The weather of the area is perfect for recreation and is popularly known as the “Best Beach of Silence”.

8. Tarifa, Andalusia

Tarifa located in the Andalusia region this is a popular area for the younger crowd. This is the best beach in Spain for people who regularly sunbathe or partake in other activities such as surfing. With the best windsurfing conditions Tarifa is considered as a true surfers paradise. Between March and October there are a number of companies offer daily trips to the Strait of Gibraltar from their base in Tarifa, to observe up to seven different species of whales and dolphins in their natural environment.

9. La Barrosa, Chiclana de la Frontera, Cadiz

La Barrosa is a beach with 8 kilometres of fine white sand and clear blue water. La Barrosa is the Best Clean beach and has been awarded the European Blue Flag award for clean beaches. It is also one of the best beaches on the Andalucian coastline.

10. Playa de los Peligros; Playa de la Magdalena, Santander

Magdalena beach is within the bay itself. The beach is 350 meters long, with fine golden sand and it is popular throughout the year. Be careful, however, particularly at low tide, of the steep slope down into the water. This beach has also won an award for its cleanliness. For safety reasons, windsurfers and sailing boats must stay within a restricted area.

I love Tarifa, I had a great time every time I went there, not only great for the beach and water sports but also some great parties!
