Carousel of life

The following dragged me out of a deep sleep about 12 years ago, and I just had the whole thing, couldn't ignore it and immediately went to find pen and paper to record it. 

I hope you can identify with it.

I was standing at the carousel of life

and my baggage hadn't come

when along came this character called Christ

an He told me what He'd done

said I gave my life at Calvary to save a fool like you

leave your baggage follow me and I'll start your life anew

and as we left the baggage hall the customs men turned blue.

He said I'm Christ, you can't buy me

the tickets free, come forth and try me

pick up your ticket for eternity

but please don't be late for the flight

for I will come like a thief in the night

You can choose your destination

sit down, enjoy the flight

there's constant in flight service

and if you look out the window on your right

you'll see the lights of your old life

as they glide past beneath you

they used to glow so brightly

but now they're just dull blue

and you get that strange sensation

as you start your life anew
