Chocolate Covered Banana Recipes

A Marvelous Marriage: Chocolate & Banana
Not only do they taste great when combined, but both bananas and dark chocolate also contain a lot of health benefits...particularly for women.
So, when you need an indulgence, consider making one of these great treats to enjoy.
You can, of course, use any kind of chocolate, but for a healthier option, choose a dark chocolate that is labeled at least 70% Dark Chocolate.
The Easiest, Yummiest Recipe Ever:
Okay, here is what you need:
Banana(s), Chocolate, Wooden Sticks, Wax Paper, Microwave or Stove, & a Freezer
This is what you need to do:
Peel the banana(s) and cut in half horizontally. Stick the wooden stick into each banana half vertically (so it resembles a Popsicle). Let bananas set in freezer for about two hours, until the sticks are firmly set in the bananas.
Melt the chocolate, either in the microwave or in a pan on the stove. You want the melted chocolate to have a shiny, sheeny, creamy appearance.
Dip the bananas into the melted chocolate, keeping your fingers clean by holding onto the wooden stick. Lay the chocolate covered bananas on the wax paper. Transfer to the freezer until they are set firm (again, about two hours).
Then, enjoy! If you want to save some for later, simply wrap in plastic once the chocolate is set and store in freezer until you are ready to consume.
TIP: Let the frozen chocolate covered bananas sit at room temperature for five to ten minutes before eating to reduce the risk of hurting a tooth!

Choosing the Best Chocolate

Refer to the following cheat sheet before your next trip to the chocolate shop:

Yummy Add-Ons to Your Chocolate Covered Bananas!
- Um...did someone say banana and chocolate and peanut butter? Simply add some peanut butter to the chocolate and melt together before dipping the bananas. Yummy!
- For an extra special treat, coat the chocolate covered bananas in crushed nuts, mini M&M's, granola, or crushed Oreo cookies. Simply roll the bananas in the coating of your choice after you dip them in the chocolate, then freeze.
- Instead of chocolate (or in addition to), try covering the bananas in butterscotch. You can buy butterscotch chips, which are similar to chocolate chips, and melt them just like chocolate. It would be yummy to combine these with chocolate too.
- Did someone say white chocolate?
