Cosmetic Dental Surgery – My Dream Of A Perfect Smile
I have
recently been looking into cosmetic dental surgery. I am from the UK so I am quite sure that it is
not too difficult for people to believe that my teeth are not exactly perfect. No its true.
I do every I can to keep them in a good condition. I have invested in the cost of teeth whitening procedures but my initial problems stem from when I was a youngster. I really loved my sweet foods and I really loved to read. The problem occurred because I would read late into the night and snack on biscuits while reading in my bed.
I thought I was doing a great job keeping my teeth nice and clean but a visit to the dentist put me straight. I had to have quite a lot of work done which involved countless sessions in the dentist chair, numerous novocaine injections into my jaw and hours of drilling, filling and deep cleaning.
During this time I also developed a slight overbite. It would have been the normal practice for the dentist to suggest giving a child like me a set of braces. However the dentist took the decision not to fit me with any kind of brace due to all the time he had already spent working on my gnashers. At the time it wasn’t a big deal. It was not the norm for whole classrooms of children to have braces in London so I was none the wiser.
Fast forward a few decades and I look at myself in the mirror. What do I see staring back at me? Well I have a slightly crooked smile. The top teeth are fighting for space and have ended up overlapping and the bottom teeth are a little crowded.
Now the bottom teeth are fine. When I smile they do not show too much so I can get away with leaving them as they are but the upper molars are a different story. I am a very happy person. I laugh a lot, I smile a lot which in itself is fantastic. Yippee. However I do get a little self conscious about my crooked teeth every now and then. So now is the time to do something about it and getting cosmetic dental surgery could be the answer to getting a perfect smile.I have done a little research and know that my treatment would consist of getting porcelain veneers for my top teeth. I went for a free dental consultation and the lovely dentist told me that in order to get a perfect smile I would need to invest in getting 6 porcelain veneers. The procedure would be done over a period of two weeks during which time I would have my teeth filed down and get a temporary set fitted. By the end of the whole process, I would have a set of great looking teeth.
I was told how much it would cost and was also given a photo simulation that showed me what my teeth would like if I had the work done.
Well I have that picture on my wall and keep staring at it while wishing and hoping to win the lottery in order to pay for the work. The alternative is to start saving my pennies in my "Get A Perfect Smile" fund.
So here’s to saving enough money so that I can finally get the cosmetic dental surgery that I am dreaming of and get my super perfect smile.
