When I was a kid, I always wanted a cool looking umbrella. You would too, if you had to walk 45 minutes to school in a climate where rain was a regular occurrence. Unfortunately, my mother didn't find cool-looking umbrellas all that important, and I always wound up with some plaid number that looked like it belonged to someone's grandmother.

Your kid is only a kid once. If they want a Hello Kitty umbrella, why not let them have one? Better than having them walk home without using one at all -- which is what I often did, to avoid being seen with mine! Take a look at the following kids umbrellas and you'll see how cool some of them can be.

Princess Umbrella Princess Umbrella

List Price: $32.00

The Princess Umbrella

I looove this umbrella. In fact, if someone gave me one of these, I might even use it myself. Look at how cute that is, with the little princess and whatever else is going round the trim. What are those, flowers? Whatever they are, they're pretty and any little girl would love this!

The Spiderman Umbrella

What little boy doesn't love Spiderman? I loved watching Spidey and Friends as a kid, and I would have been thrilled to have this umbrella. Ok, so I probably would have preferred Wonder Woman or Firestar. But hey, what can you do? It's a Spiderman's world.

The Hello Kitty Umbrella

I confess that I did not see the appeal of Hello Kitty when I was a kid. I was always trying to figure out why she had such a strange name, and why she never seemed to speak. (Or does she? Is she even a she?) But I did love the Hello Kitty shop at the mall and I used to spend quite a bit of time looking at all the collectibles. I would have loved an umbrella from there!

The Green Frog Umbrella

Boys like frogs, right? Frogs are cool about rain, right? So this seems like a good choice for little boys who want a fun umbrella. The eyes are pretty cute, and hey, he's smiling. What more do you want from an umbrella?

Totes Bubble Umbrella

Ok... this is the one I wanted as a kid. THIS is the umbrella I wanted, but mommy never bought for me. No wonder I have so many complexes! This one comes in several colors and is very good at blocking rain and wind, because it covers a good part of your torso. Love these umbrellas, someone buy me one!

Aw, Isabella, these are some *cute* umbrellas. I have bought my daughter, to date, (and her grandparents, as well,) several very cute umbrellas. They lie in shambles because my theory is that kids cannot take care of umbrellas. The cuter they are the more quickly they become destroyed or stolen. (The last one she had mysteriously disappeared from the school cloakroom. *ponder*)
