Disney's Epcot Theme Park: Where Fast Pass is Obsolete

Stretching over 300 acres of land, the Epcot Theme Park at Disney World in Orlando, Florida is perhaps one of the most significantly recognizable theme parks on the Walt Disney World Resort property, just behind the Magic Kingdom Theme Park. Being an adult, the greatest thing about Epcot is that you'll find far less rides for babies there compared to Magic Kingdom. It's rides like Spaceship Earth and Test Track that set these theme parks apart from places like Sesame Place. The running themes for most of the attractions in Epcot are future technology, science, and various worldly cultures. 

To begin with, much of this theme park is divided into various 'Pavilions' that are distinguishable by various international locales (i.e. the Morocco Pavilion, Norway Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, Italy Pavilion, and even the Spaceship Earth Pavilion to name a few). This set up makes for a very multi-faceted experience from the get-go. As far as rides go, there are only about four rides that are worth an experience or two, these are -- Mission: SPACE which is a step-by-step simulation of a shuttle launch to Mars (hosted by Gary Sinese) that has a less-than-stellar conclusion; Soarin', which is an epic multi-sensory experience where you hang-glide over a huge panoramic screen; Test Track, a high-tech automotive experience that ends way too soon; and last but not least, there's Spaceship Earth, an omnimover ride that takes you on a journey from the distant past to the present and with a glimpse of the future.

Furthermore, the lines for Test Track and Soarin' are ridiculously long, even if you do get a Fast Pass. While Soarin' actually feels like it was worth it in the end, Test Track feels more like a rip off because you've been waiting on the line since dinosaurs died and the ride is over before you can even exhale. On a separate note, Disney just brought back the hit 3-D musical starring Michael Jackson called "Captain EO" which features the King of Pop performing with an intergalactic cast. 

This should make Epcot a little more interesting and worthwhile. However, all attractions aside, there are quite a few interesting technology labs (like the Innoventions one) to check out all around the theme park, each with cool and impressive gadgets to try out. Also, whereas Magic Kingdom has a cool railroad train circulating the park, Epcot has their own futuristic monorail system which is quite a nice touch. Epcot would surely make for a nice place to live, without a doubt.
