Get Smart and Learn How To Attract More Money in 2009

Updated on May 12, 2011

Would you like to attract more money into your life?  If you answered yes, then the first thing you will need to think about is getting beyond three common beliefs that tend to stop us from attracting money into our lives.

Three Common Beliefs

The first belief is "it's too hard" - to look at that belief that "it's too hard" oftentimes is so ingrained in us that it becomes second nature to believe that when something comes up for us even if we have a goal that pops into our mind intuitively or in a form of a dream or even something that inspires us, it seems almost immediately that to us it seems impossible and therefore we label it as being "too hard" and so we tend to back away from it.

Have you ever been at a place and feel as though you have hit a wall in your life and there is some obstacle you feel you cannot get beyond. Just for a moment, think back on your story and how it got to that point and how many times in the past have you found ways to get beyond things that were deemed too hard. Whether it was out of a sense of survival or because you were just tired of the situation or bored or whatever it was but the thing is, it really is crucial to remember when we get into a place where we feel stuck, we tend to focus on the feeling of being stuck. One of the easiest ways to help get yourself unstuck is to go back in your mind, just take a break from obsessing about being stuck and go back in and look at the successes that you have created for yourself. Oftentimes we tend to forget the amazing things we have actually achieved in our lives because one, we've gotten beyond it and sometimes past it and doesn't seem as relevant to us anymore but a simple thing to do is to leave the focus off of "it's too hard" for a little while, and look at your past for any evidence showing that you have actually achieved things that you didn't believe in the past were possible. In fact, if you look back at somethings that didn't seem to be that big of a deal to actually achieve for you but other people would have had an incredibly hard time.

So again, it's getting in touch with your skills, your brilliance or your creativity to get beyond that belief that "it's too hard".

Oftentimes, we have so much knowledge, we've been taught so much of the Law of Attraction especially within the last few years. People still don't know how to use the Law of Attraction and feel as though "it's too hard". Granted that belief is also filled with the belief it's not possible or not believing that it's possible but a lot of times what we tend to do is over analyze how it is that we can bring things in our lives. The other thing that is suggested to do is to just simplify things.

It's difficult to do that if you have an emotional attachment to something or if you are in a place where your life feels like its turned completely upside down and things are caotic. It's hard to unplug from that and look at this rationally but these are the times when you have to pull yourself out of it. Pull your mind out of it and keep things simple enough to not make it hard on yourselves.

It's Too Hard!
It's Too Hard!

How to get beyond the belief that "it's too hard"

It's not that it's too hard it's just that it is different. Performing surgery is easy if you know how. If you are not in that situation then you don't know how easy it is. Some people just have the knack. You've heard the saying "whatever he touches turns to gold" and to them it really is easy so it's looking at those people and finding out what it is they're doing and modeling them. I'm not saying you need to make money the same way as others but with the ease in which they do it and you need to develop that ease. Like it's been said...it's easy if you know how! So this is not something hard, it is just something different that you're not used to yet.

The second belief is "I'm not deserving" - if you look back a year on your life you know that just because you had something in 2008 doesn't mean you will have or have to have it in 2009. So if you felt you were not deserving last year, well this year you are deserving. Just because you were feeling that way one minute doesn't mean you must feel that way the next. Start right now and change that belief.

To think you are not deserving is a very very painful thing so do your best to look at this view from another perspective. In light of a deserving view say...wait a minute, ya know, I may not believe that I'm deserving but I do believe that I was meant to come here to serve a purpose and I can't fulfill a job if I don't have the right tools and resources. . What typically happens when you at least allow yourself to begin to think like that, you will begin to get into a place of giving and also into a place of being grateful that you can give and then of course the Law of Attraction is that what you give, you receive and so you begin to see that the more you give the more you have a desire to have and it's not coming from a place of greed or from a feeling of lack. It's coming from a place of wanting to share in everything that the world has to offer. As easy as that sounds, you just start to build from that place of gratitude and that place of desire.

If this is a belief that is blocking you, try to remember that two of the most important things when it comes to the Law of Attraction is gratitude and service. Get yourself into a place of feeling that you are here to be of service to other people. So you will need tools and resources to be the best person that you can be to live the most comfortable life that you can in order for you to be able to focus your energy on being of service to the rest of the world.

I'm not deserving!
I'm not deserving!

How to get beyond the belief that "I'm not deserving"

Just by human nature we often think about doing things for other people and we go take those little extra steps and put more energy into doing for others, whereas for ourselves we would kind of neglect these things. A lot of times we have a better outlook on other people than we do on ourselves because there is some distance. Kind of like the old saying "you can't see the forrest through the trees". We seem to have a more complete sense of other people sometimes better than of ourselves. So again, it's looking at how other people are doing things. Sometimes the way we look at ourselves or what we say to ourselves boils down to pretty petty stuff.

So when we are talking about our own money issues sometimes we are a little too close to the issues. A lot of times with money right now, we are trying to blame the economy on a lot of people with our problems. With the economy, the wind is blowing the same way for everybody. It's what we do with the wind! So think about that....

The third common belief is "I don't believe it is possible"

Why do you think people don't believe that it's possible to attract more money? The biggest problem is that people start to manifest something huge like a building or owning a skyscraper by next week. They go to work but of course they fail because they don't have the foundation. You must start with a foundation and go one step at a time. Don't try to jump up all the stairs at once just to be at the top of the staircase when you haven't even learned to step up even one stair.

When you're about to pay for something how can you "think", "visualize", "imagine", having more money when you look in your wallet and see only the amount you need to make the purchase? And if you didn't get that question, saying it another way is say you're at the store and you want to buy something and don't have enough money to pay for it and so how do you attract money right there on the spot so when you open your wallet you actually have more money.

I feel that is where most people get misled by the Law of Attraction that they believe that somehow there's some magical way to make the impossible...possible, in a very short period of time.

Not to beat up on you who think this way but the Law of Attraction is not Harry Potter. We all have this intellectual knowledge about the Law of Attraction but oftentimes we want to use it at times when we are most stressed and most in need. We come at the Law of Attraction and want to use it from a place of absolute total fear. Then what happens is rather than putting out the vibe of wanting something to come at us at ease we're putting out the vibration of intense fear. As you are well aware of, fear is like a big gray cloud, overshadowing everything. So we don't get what we want and we don't believe that it's possible.

It's just not possible!
It's just not possible!

How to get over the belief that "it's not possible". When people believe that something is not possible there are two things going on. First there is the belief that it's not possible for them and again it goes back to the belief that they're not deserving. Then it is not possible at all. Again, it's a building process.

I really believe, and we've all seen this too, is that manifesting and the Law of Attraction comes into play in our lives in all different kinds of ways. Oftentimes it seems so insignificant that we don't even realize it. And that's the place we have to get back to, to recognize those and be able to appreciate those moments when we do manifest things. I remember hearing a lot of times when I began learning the Law of Attraction the whole thing about manifesting a parking space didn't mean much to me but may have meant much to you. So think of something that means something to you, that you have noticed in your life or things have come to you with ease. Rather than focusing on what's not happening, what is it that has happened and what is it that has worked for you? The parking lot thing keeps coming up because it was mentioned in the news and on the secret so often.

With attracting money, we get ourselves so wrapped up and part of that involves us worrying about what happens if the money doesn't come" It's not a big deal if you've got to walk another block or park two spaces over so get used to working at it with the small stuff then move on to the bigger stuff. Then it won't be a big deal if it doesn't come through. It's like doing anything, we learn how to swim with little swimmies on our arms first before we swim and we learn how to drive in a parking lot before we drive in the street. It's not a big deal. You wonder if it works. If you start with the small stuff it doesn't really matter.

This is nothing profound or anything you haven't heard before but I hope that maybe by hearing it again you can implement it into your lives. Just break it down into smaller and smaller steps. This way the Law of Attraction really works because it's a building of energy, a building of momentum, getting yourself into that feeling place slowly but surely but not expecting you to jump from a place of absolute fear to feeling absolute. Once you get the Law of Attraction rolling to attract money, it will build momentum and keep right on rolling. Then it will take a lot less energy to keep it rolling.

Start with something. Set out with the intention to attract more money and 2009 will be a lot more different financially than 2008. So lets get smart this year!
