Exercise Plan Without Going to the Gym in Five Months

Updated on October 9, 2017

It's the new year and I know that most, if not all, have the resolution of wanting to go to the gym and workout that Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday food before the summer starts. Look, there's going to be a chance where you're not going to go to the gym because personal things might get in the way or your schedule is going to be hectic or if you have young kids that you need to care for and don't have enough time to go to the gym. It can even be for financial reasons. It's cool, no one is going to penalize you for not going when you say you are. But I want you to give yourself an challenge all without having to step outside your house.

This challenge requires a couple of things: you have to have the will power (at least a little) to keep on with it, take a little bit of alone time to exercise and stay consistent for at least five months. Some may say there's no way that they can do but there is a way and I'm going to show you how to do it. The best part about it is that you don't really have to change your diet unless your doctor advises you to do so. Also, you would have lower your portions of your favorite foods and making sure that you don't eat after a certain time (say 9pm).

First, if you have the money (which you should for this), either go to your nearest fitness store or pharmacy store and purchase both the Iron Gym and Push Up Pro. You can also order it at an online store such as Amazon. Once you have that, give yourself a set time of when you want to work out. For people with children, I'd suggest to do it after they sleep or if they're in school, wait till they have left the house. Make it a must that you take 30-45 minutes out of the day for starters just to warm up and start using the Push Up Pro and Iron Gym.

For beginners, do at least 2 sets of 12 for the Push Up Pro and do 2 sets of 12 doing dips with the Iron Gym. Once you see that you are used to it, up your rep with 3 sets of 12 for both of them. I would suggest a maximum of 4 sets of 12 for both once you really get the hang of it up until the 5th month. You don't want to over work yourself. If you find yourself doing it, immediately stop. You don't have to do this on an everyday basis. Break it down to every other day and give your body a rest. On the days that you aren't doing it, take the time to stretch. If you want to do it, give yourself a mini-workout and do 2 sets.

As far as dieting is concerned, I'm not telling you to pig out, but at the same time I don't want you to starve either. Keep eating what you are eating, but do it at a lighter portion. Cut the soda out of the diet and make room for water. You can either split it between water and Gatorade/Powerade like I do. Repeat all these steps for the next 5 months and you should be fine.

If you do have time to go to the gym, then you're 5 months might be cut short for they have much more to offer there. But this is for those who can't make it there. Both the Push Up Pro and Iron Gym are, to me, inexpensive as they both go for $19.99. Maybe even cheaper on Amazon. So check it all out and good luck. Let me know how you all are doing after the five months.
