Gardening tools – Gardening tools are always a plus. Spades, digging knife, and pruning shears always come in handy.
Seeds and/or bulbs – Choose a nice variety of seeds and bulbs for your mother to plant in her flower garden. Most gardening centers will have a large variety to choose from. Try to pick bright, colorful flowers. You might also include seeds for a butterfly garden as well.
Garden apron – Get your mother a cute garden apron to wear while she plants and tends to her garden. She’ll need something to carry around all her garden equipment while she works in the yard.
Window boxes – Window boxes are fabulous gift ideas because they can be filled with plants and placed under the kitchen window. Your mother will enjoy beautiful, blooming flowers from the box.
Indoor herb garden – Another terrific idea is an indoor herb garden. You can buy these already blooming, or pre-packaged sets to plant your own. Your mother will enjoy growing these, but will also have the added benefit of fresh herbs when she cooks.
If your Mother isn’t a gardener, or doesn’t enjoy the outdoors as much, there are still some green gift ideas you might try, such as:
- Wildflower bouquets (hand-picked and arranged by you)
- Gift certificate for an environmentally-friendly spa package
- Shopping trip at an organic farmer’s market
- Soy candles from a local craftswoman
