Having an abortion is a hard and difficult decision
Unwanted pregnancy
One of the bigest possible dilemmas to face any woman is choosing what to do with an unwanted prganancy.
The issues involved in an unwanted pregnancy are numerous. by mainly psych-social. That is a major social factor is adversely affecting you wanting to go ahead and have a baby. Years ago before contraception getting pregnant was far more prevalent but pregnancy was more accepted. Today with prevalence of female career roles the decision to rear a child seems more complex. What or how shall I rear the child whilst continuing my career? What shall i do having a child outside wedlock. How shall I rear the child without a father. How will my parents and relative treat me knowing that I am pregnant ? How can I possibly afford to bring up a child on the salary i am earning. All these sorts of issues influence the decision to have or not to have an abortion. Of course abortion today is far safer medical procedure for the mother than in the past. Although it results in the untimely death of a fetus.

The Bradley Method of Giving Birth : Hubby, Where Are You? I am getting well informed about all the birthing techniques because I am studying and writing about. It simply amazed me to see that there are lots...
Whilst I have stated that abortion is far safer these days I want to say at the outset I am not advocating abortion. Abortion procedure should not be taken lightly as I am sure it is not. It is big thing to sacrifice a child any child in any circumstances. In my view the child should be saved. Ways should be made so that the child can be brought up without stigma. Society needs to get a grip on the issue for it is a community concern and not just the mothers problem. The father should have far more responsibility and should not be allowed to walk away from any unwanted pregnancy Scott-free inside or outside of marriage.
iIlegal
When abortions were illegal they did not prevent abortion rather abortions were mostly medically risky as they were done in secret by backyard operators. Often these operators were protected by corrupt police. The police took a fee(or blood money) for turning a blind eye to the operation. Today because the abortion procedure is legal then there is no market for backyard abortion.
