Heavenly Chocolate Covered Strawberries for the Chocoholic
78Craving for Chocolate
Do you have a craving for chocolate? Are you a chocoholic? I am. I'll admit it. I love chocolate on almost anything, especially on strawberries. Love for me is eating chocolate covered strawberries. They cause certain endocrine glands to secrete hormones that affect my feelings and behavior and make me happy.
I believe, in the beginning God created chocolate covered strawberries and He saw that they were good. Then He separated the light from the dark chocolate covered strawberries and He saw that they were much better. So He made them the breakfast of champions. Well, He did in my house!
The Breakfast of Champions Chocolate Covered Strawberry Shake
Ingredients
1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries (plus a couple extra for garnish)
1 cup fat free milk
1 packet no sugar added chocolate carnation instant breakfast
dark chocolate bar (melted)
Directions
1. Add strawberries, milk, and carnation instant breakfast into blender; cover.
2. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into glass and drizzle melted chocolate on top.
4. Garnish with whole strawberries.
It Is Healthy For You
I am a healthy chocoholic. Any true chocoholic knows that chocolate is
a vegetable. It comes from the cocoa bean and beans are veggies, right? Did you ever try chocolate covered broccoli or chocolate covered coffee beans? I have, but chocolate covered strawberries are by far my absolute favorite.

And They Are Cheap, Easy & Tasty To Make
Chocolate Covered Strawberries
Ingredients
Strawberries with stems intact (wash & pat thoroughly dry)
Largest Dark Chocolate Bar You Can Find
Tablespoon of Margarine
Things You Will Need
Parchment or Wax Paper
Small Pot
Bowl with a Handle or Lip
Spatula (high heat intensity)
Preparation
1. Put about an inch of water into the pot and put it over a medium flame.
2. Bring the water just about to a boil and turn the flame down low.
3. Suspend the bowl inside the pot. This is where the bowl with a handle or lip will come in handy.
4. Put the chocolate in bowl to melt using indirect heat.
5. Add the margarine so the chocolate will become smooth and coats evenly.
6. Stir the chocolate often until it is smooth.
7. Take the strawberries by the stem and one-by-one dip them into the chocolate while lifting and twisting slightly to give a more even look.
8. Place them on parchment or wax paper covered plate.
9. Refrigerate for at least half an hour or until the chocolate hardens.
Strawberry Growing Tips
Tips
Chocolate Covered Strawberries are best if eaten within 24 hours.
Refrigerate for longer storage.
Serve at room temperature for greatest flavor.
Strawberries do not ripen after harvesting, so be sure to choose strawberries that are already fully ripe. Look for bright red in color, a natural shine and the green stems should be fresh looking.
Frozen fruits are hard to dip in chocolate because the coldness of the fruit freezes the chocolate instantly, and will leave an uneven coat on the strawberries.
Be creative and dip your chocolate covered strawberries in coconut, chopped nuts, or confectioners sugar; whatever pleases you!
You could even try growing your own strawberries. There is nothing more heavenly than homegrown fresh strawberries.
So the next time you have a chocolate craving, you can either join the Chocoholic's Club or you can give chocolate covered strawberries a try!

Ooooh Dottie you just earned yourself a place in heaven!
Chocolates are great to eat before a meal ... or even after a meal ... or in between meals! Having a few bars of chocolate in the pocket would be a good idea. Having more in the fridge to replenish stocks when your pocket runs dry is also a brilliant idea. When embedded with nuts and raisins, chocolates are really out of this world.
On a chocolaty day you can eat forever!
... as long as you know your limits ...
:)
I love chocolate covered strawberries. Thanks for the recipes.
Yum, Yum, want some! I love chocolate covered strawberries, and I need to try that shake! My mouth is watering!
There are not many foods that i like these days but strawberries and chocolate has to be near the top of foods i do like!! Its only recently that i started eating only dark chocolate with at least a minimum of 70% cocoa solids! and accompany it with various nuts, seeds and occasionally strawberries, so I'm going to try your flavour styles!!
.On the 2nd day god created Dottie to eat all the nice chocolates and strawberries:D
Oooh, the shake sounds just heavenly! Melted chocolate? Wow!
I have a chocolate fountain that gets more use around the house than it should. Anything covered in chocolate is a treat.

A few years ago I was invited to a "chocolate conference" in France. It was awesome, the best chocolatiers showing off their latest creations... one of them even presented prawns covered in chocolate and amazingly enough, they were delicious!
Hi Dottie, it's me again! I wanted to discuss an advertisement I saw in a Chinese news paper. It was about chocolate coated ... no ... I won't tell you. I'd better not! :)
Yes Princessa, I can see the full benefit! I'm in love! Gonna try to catch the next chocolate conference! Being of sound mind, I wouldn't want to miss that!
Question: Did you get served a cold strawberry soup when you got married? I heard in France that strawberries are regarded as an aphrodisiac and a tradition to serve the soup to the bride!
Hello Me Again:
Thanks for sparing me! That's why I don't read the news;)
Hi Dottie, the next chocolate event around here is the "Coupe de France des Jeunes Chocolatiers Confiseurs" on May 5th, it is a contest where young chocolatiers have to invent an artistic piece of chocolate, create a chocolate bombon and a chocolate cake.
Answering your question, no, I didn't get the strawberry soup. I got married in Scotland so all I got was porridge the morning after to "get back in shape" ;-)
Hi Princessa, thanks for the info, I will regretfully have to miss the May 5th chocolate conference because I will be in the Philippines celebrating ripplemakers birthday...shhhh, it's a surprise, can you make it? on 2nd thought maybe the party can be moved to the conference, we can make the chocolate cake and bombons for her.
That's too bad you didn't get the soup but PORRIDGE, that sounds like a story my mother used to read me when I was little. Do the three bears live in Scotland?
I love chocolate as long as it is good chocolate and not that cheap waxy stuff. I try to treat myself to one piece a day. It is good for me after all!
This hub made me run to Big Kmart to buy a chocolate bar (and I finished it on my way back home). I don’t keep chocolate at home without some special occasion, because if I have some at home, I don’t have it. I eat all at one sitting. That’s why I don’t keep it….. Even if I hide some, I always remember where it was hidden.
Have you tried my chocolate pomegranate clusters?
Same here Erick! Its got to be dark chocolate and eaten in moderation. Thanks for your comments.
ReuVera, a little discipline can go a long way! I am going to check out your chocolate pomegranate clusters. They sound wonderful! Thanks!
Sorry for giving this link here, but there you can find pomegranate chocolate clusters (otherwise it'll take you time while you find it)
Thank you ReuVera for posting the link. I did try to find it and got distracted and wonder off somewhere in cyberspace, lol. I just read the hub and found it very interesting and the pomegranate chocolate clusters looked delightful. I'm going to give them a try! thank you.
I'm sure you'll like it. As I love pomegranates and LOVE chocolate, this recipe was a perfect marriage.
Unfortunately, I have no dscipline when it goes to chocolate, otherwise I wouldn't be a chocoholic, right?
Sounds like you may need this; don't leave home without it!
haha, I'm going to print it out and keep it in my wallet :)
haha, I've got one in mine too!
And God ate the chocolate covered strawberries and said this is good, ummm...no yummy, tasty, delicious! ROFL... it would be great to eat chocolates with you Dottie. I am a chocolate lover too. :-)
Hi Sis, sounds like a plan. And then God said, mmm (while rubbing his tummy) make some more!
I love both chocolate and strawberries, thanks for these tips.
You're welcome Melody. Thanks for stopping by.
Love your chocolate covered strawberries Hub Dottie! I like broccoli; however, I don't think I would like it chocolate covered - maybe its just me? The romantic side of chocolate and strawberries is very appealing too! Well done!

Paradise must be strawberry and chocolate fields forever! Mmmmm....
I'll meet you there Shalini! You need a ride?
Chocolate covered strawberries are yummie, Dottie1, but dark-chocolate covered ice cream is convenient to pick up at the grocery store so I keep it in the fridge. Your hub inspired me to consume one while reading your hub and all the comments.
Keep the fridge open William. I'll be right there!
I have plenty in the fridge, Dottie. In fact your response kicked my memory and inspired me to open the large jar of maraschino cherries on the fridge door. Mmmmm good!
Mmmmm that sounds heavenly.
Adding to shopping list: chocolate covered ice cream, maraschino cherries, whip cream, nuts and anything else I see!
I can't wait till Thursday!
Yeah, Chocolates .....mmmmmmmm..my favorite . Do you know they now have chocolates for dogs too. I recently found that out in the pet shop. I tried it and my puppy stared at me. whow.... she must be thinking... hey isnt that our chocolate . Anyway, human chocolates taste better.
Did your puppy try the chocolate. Did she like it? I'll take your word for it that human chocolates taste better... hehe. Thanks for stopping by.
Wow!I am a chocoholic and I can drool on and on at this page!Great pics! Thanks for sharing!:)
Hi lyla, thank you and glad you enjoyed the chocolates covered strawberries. See you around.
I don't think I would like chocolate covered broccoli, lol! But these chocolate covered strawberries are mouth watering. Yummy yummy!
I don't think I'll be making chocolate covered broccoli anytime soon but from what I've read there are parents who will do anything to get their kids to eat vegetables.
Oh now that got me thinking. But knowing my Sam she'll just eat the chocolate and leave the vegies behind. =)
I really didn't have much trouble with my kids eating vegetables. I guess they were like me when I was little. I remember i was allowed to eat dessert before dinner because my parents knew I would clear my plate along with all my veggies. My other sisters did not get that priviledge. hehe
