What Some Hubbers Say They Are Making at HubPages with AdSense

  • girly_girl09, with about 122 hubs, has had a month where $5.00 a day was a bit on the low side for her AdSense Earnings, and another where she has gone two weeks without breaking $5.00 a day; $0.0410/Hub/Day.
  • warchild75, with about 44 hubs, made about $9.45 on hiis best month, which breaks down to about $0.31 a day; $0.0070/Hub/Day.
  • luvintkandtj, with about 42 hubs, made about $32.00 in her first 8 months, which averages down to about $0.17 a day; $0.0040/Hub/Day.
  • curiozities, with about 19 hubs, says: "At the rate I'm going, I'll make my first million by the year 3258, give or take a decade or so". That breaks down to about $2.19 a day; $0.1153/Hub/Day.
  • dwilliamson, with about 403 hubs, made about $30.18 in two months, which equals approximately $0.50 a day; $0.0012/Hub/Day.
  • Marisa Wright, with about 74 hubs, made about $500.00 over a period of two years, which is $0.68 per day; $0.0093/Hub/Day.
  • badcompany99 (who has left hubpages), with about 46 hubs, made $16.00 over a period of two months, about $0.26 a day; $0.0058/Hub/Day

The average earnings per day per hub for the abobe 7 hubbers is $0.0262/Hub/Day. What does that mean in REAL money?

Let's assume you have 100 hubs, and it works out like this:

  • $2.62 per day;
  • $78.70 per month;
  • $957.55 per year;

Let's call it an even $1,000.00 per year for 100 hubs!

We Don't All Make the Same Kind of Money

A Hubber with 20 hubs can make more money than a hubber with 100 hubs. There are many reasons for this, including but not limited to:

  • The amount of traffic, or hits, received by the hubs;
  • The "quality" of the traffic ... are they more or less likely to click on an ad or make a purchase?
  • Varying levels in the quality of writing ... are visitors compelled to continue reading or to follow through in a way that increases the chances of the hubber earning cash?
  • The "commercial value" of a hub. For example, are there high-paying AdSense ads available for the hub topic?
  • Effective use of the Amazon and eBay plugins, or of other affiliate links in the hubs;

AdSense Earnings Can Be "Seasonal"

Some hubbers notice that their Hubpages AdSense earnings "dip" quite dramatically at times. This can be due to a number of causes:

  • The number of people online varies from season to season and from day to day.
  • During the summer many people may be away from their computers, enjoying the good weather.
  • During holidays and other major events, they may also be away from their computers or, if they are at their computers, focussed on a topic of broad general interest, like an election or a catastrophe (or, God help us, a catastrophic election).

Slow and Steady Does It ...

One hubber (Marisa Wright) puts it best: "the income starts very slowly and improves over time, until eventually it snowballs". This seems to be a consensus among not only hubbers, but members of other communities, like Squidoo.

Good hub, Jason! Thanks for taking the time to crunch the numbers. Yep, unless you know what you're doing, the earnings are pretty dismal until you start figuring things out. I hope it does snowball in the future like they say

Good math! I'm averaging $10 a day from my hubs. Yes, you're right! We certainly don't make the same kind of money.

as per Google Adsense rules - is it ok to share your adsense earnings info in public?

There are a lot of very successful AdSense earners who will show screen shots of their AdSense earnings, with the day to day details blacked out, but the totals and the time period visible. It seems safe enough to talk about averages.

Interesting hub! Thanks for sharing. I'm still really new here, so I'm just starting to see the "snowball" effect. At this point, I can buy myself a cup of coffee with my earnings -- but it's a start.

Nice computation. I had 39 hubs last August and made $55.76 from adsense.

It looks to me that if you outsource hub creation, you can profit from hubpages. Let's say you hire someone to create a hub for you @ $3 to $5.

5000 hubs @ $3 each would only be $15,000. If you have the money to invest, hiring someone else to write hubs for you can be profitable.

You just have to know where to outsource and what topics to create hubs for.

Hello Jason,

I truly appreciate your breakdown and I also thank all of the honest people here commenting on your Hub.

I've been fixated learning how I can earn money with Adsense. It's not easy but each and every week my revenue increases.

The initial setup takes so much time and I have taken the time to increase my earnings each week.

A few months ago I simply got feed up trying to earn some real money with Adsense. A few months ago I was earning about a $1.00 per day. I continued to write Hubs, Blogs and create websites for free. Last month I saw a rise in my daily earnings. Now for the past month or so I have been earning $5.00+ per day. One day last month I almost hit $20. I was in static. So I continued to write and focus on learning Ad Placement of Adsense Ads AND learned a wonderful trick to find the highest paying keyword and the most searched for keywords. I'll tell ya, changing all of my Tags then submitting my URLs to Search Engines Skyrocketed my earnings.

My focus here at Hubpages is to continue to write and continue to grow. Take the time to view my profile and I feel you will find many helpful tips which I have learned from Hub members.

Enjoy everyone who wants to learn how to earn some real money.

Thanks for collecting and sharing this information. I am not very active at hubpages and therefore earning money is not one of my priorities here. I am just using my spare time and it seems to be working.
