Art of the poem draws the freedom I love

Believing who ride on the wings of a dove

Captured in words as free as a kite

Delicately expressed to the winds take flight

Eternal in thought as I reach high above

Floating to freedom on the wing of love

Gently I rise in the breeze of the sky

Hoping this day will bring honor on high

Individual works from goodness abound

Justice to those who stand on the ground

Kindness be shown as simple as pie

Like the bursts in the air on the fourth of July

Master the one in the depth of your soul

Now is the time speaks volume of whole

Opportunity knocks, let open your heart

Prepare yourself for a brand new start

Quiet the tempest whose love he has stole

Rights are yours to pursue, that's the goal

Stay wide awake to the sacred call

Timeless in nature, there's love for us all

Understand freedom is an internal affair

Visibly in need of worthy repair

Welcome the light that breaks down the wall

Xtra love will pour in as the dark night will fall

You've heard the story from the art of a poem

Zealously embrace wherever you roam

Hi VioletSun, How are you? Thank you for always stopping by to comment. As you can tell I am not a poet, lol.. But I wanted to try at least once, and try something new and now my poetic career is over...

Happy July 4th to you too. Have lots of fun!

Hi G-Ma and thanks. I really appreciate your comment. Writing poems is something I never do and so it was quite intimidating to publish. Love and hugs to you and a wish for you to have the best 4th holiday ever.

Great Poem. We are also celebrating our independence day on the 4th of July; that is before it was moved to 12th of June. There were some who still opposes the change until now. They are claiming that it was only on July 4, 1946, when the United States granted it independence that the Philippines became politically free as a country. Anyways I just remember because of the date. Happy 4th of July! =)

Thanks Charia for that piece of information.   So I will have to say I hope you had an enjoyable Independence Day on June 12th in the Philippines.

It's good to learn something new every day!  Thanks for coming by!

Hello Sis Michelle, I'm glad you got a chance to read my poem because it's probably the only one I'll write on hubpages unless a miracle occurs which I do believe in miracles. Hope you had a wonderful independence day! hugs...

Aha...I know inspiration will strike and you will find yourself being led to write another poem soon.... LOL maybe something about miracles (since you just mentioned it or maybe even about angels.) Hahaha It is beautiful to celebrate independence as our reminder to freedom! :-) Hugs...

How about you Sis! Can you write a poem? :D I did a google "what is the easier type of poem to write" and its return answer was a rhyming poem so coupled with Shirley's Alphabet soup poem suggestion is how this poem became a little miracle, hahaha.

I know i'm not late to appreciate such a patriotic poem. No longer be intimidated. Poets arise when love explodes from within and desires expression unto the world. Keep them coming poet Dotties:)
