Look At The Birds Of The Air

Matthew 6:25-34

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?

 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 

For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I have always loved the passage above, how God takes care of nature, and how He says we are more important. When we lost our home and car and stuff like that I was so concerned about it, and this passage always came to mind and heart. There is always a reason why we go through times of trial. God is making us stronger and drawing us closer to Him. I love these words here  Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? God knows our need before we even do, and this is so wonderful because He promised He would give us all we need to survive, He didn't promise He would give us what we want, but He would shelter us, feed us,clothe us and so much more.

I love sitting outside after I put bird food in the feeders and food out for the squirrels, because I am touched by their amazing abuiltity to survive, they know just what to do, and as I watch I learn more about God's amazing love for us.

So as we go on from day to day, we must live in the day we have at that moment, because the next day has enough worries of its own. As we live day to day we learn from others around us, we learn from God's creation and from God's creation we are who He made us to be. Let's listen to nature, let's watch nature and learn for God gave us all for us to learn from, and to sit and get lost in His amazing grace.
