The Beginning for Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj has become one of the newest female rappers to emerge on the scene with one of the largest followings. Such an early success can be attributed to Fendi, the owner of 'The Come Up' DVD who made her president of Dirty Money very early in her career. He came across the extremely talented as well as unique, Nicki Minaj, on her myspace. He was instantly intrigued with her talent and creative ability to write all of her own music and quickly made arrangements to meet and sign her. Later, Fendi placed Nicki Minaj on a Lil Wayne special edition of his 'The Come Up' DVD where Lil Wayne was also became immediately interested in signing her. Once watching her segment on the DVD, Lil Wayne flew her out to meet him and discuss her future in music.

At the time, Lil Wayne was just starting his new label, Young Money Entertainment and he wanted to executive produce or fund new artist projects, but he did not want to sign them. After meeting her, Lil Wayne told her that once she got her buzz up, he would be happy to fund her album. She quickly set forwarth to drop a mixtape called, 'Playtime is Over.' The cover of the mixtape was of Nicki in a barbie doll box which matches her now 'barbie fad.' The mixtape contained numerous features of local artists she knew in New York as well as the New Orleans native, Lil Wayne. The song that featured Lil Wayne was later placed on Lil Wayne's 'Da Drought 3' mixtape which is where many of her had first heard of her, including myself.

The Future of Nicki Minaj

Since then she has dropped 2 other mixtapes called 'Sucka Free' which was presented by Lil Wayne and her latest and most successful mixtape, 'Beam Me Up Scotty.' The 'Sucka Free' Mixtape contained many Lil Wayne features along with Gucci Mane, and local New York natives Lil Kim, Jadakiss, and Ransom. She has definitely caused a lot of controversy in the rap game. She has earned herself an extremely large following of dedicated fans as well as a nice crowd of haters. Despite the criticism, Nicki Minaj is definitely becoming a driving force in the rap industry and is continuing to push forward without any signs of stopping anytime soon. She has written a lot of songs with many of them being very sexually charged which is why she catches so much flacking by somewhat stealing Lil Kim's style.

Now that she has her buzz and attention from the public, she is now focusing on writing real music, which she showed a glimse of on her 'Beam Me Up Scotty' Mixtape. She has since stated she is going to be writing more thoughtful music for her album which is slated to drop sometime in 2010. Many of her lines are very witty and intelligent and you can check out some of the best and favorite Nicki Minaj Lyrics and Quotes.
