Places To Run Your Ad For Free
73Free Classifieds
Classifieds are great for so many different forms of advertising, as they are essentially a blank canvas for your brilliantly worded ad. You can advertise and search for a job, a product, a cause, a date....practically anything. Some of the sites let you add a picture at no extra charge, some do not. Be sure to read the terms of service so that you know how many ads you can place a day.
You won't find Craig's List in this hub. Everyone is already aware ot that resource. As usual, I was going for names that were lesser known, but had a good membership built up.
USFreeads
USFreeads - Don't let the name fool you into thinking that you can't use this site if you're from another country. There are ads from many countries around the globe, including the U.K., Australia, Canada. I'm sure there are more, but I checked those countries specifically as I know these are just a few of the locations of some of our fellow hubbers.
You can place an ad for free, but if you want to post photos there is a fee. The site offers tips on creating powerful ad copy.
If you choose the free keyword alert option, you will receive emails notifying you of new ads placed that match your area and keywords.

Kijiji International
I love kijiji. It is a child of eBay, and is very fast and easy to use. The idea is to advertise and search locally, but I have found freelance writing jobs by searching other cities and areas than the one I live in.
It is free to post up to 4 pictures with your ad, but you can't hyperlink, it just plain doesn't work.
Read the site's policies to make sure you know their rules to avoid being blocked, i.e. posting multiple ads that are too similar to each other is a no-no.
A Few of the Many Faces of kijiji
- Kijiji Canada
- Kijiji United States
- Kijiji France
- Kijiji Italy
- Loquo Spain (a kijiji site) - has an English option for those of us who do not read Spanish
- Kijiji China - link removed
- Gumtree Auckland - Gumtree is kijiji's site name in New Zealand, has links to several other countries
- Gumtree London - kijiji's site name in England, has links to several other countries
- Kjiji India
- Slando - this is supposed to be kijiji's Russian site if I'm understanding, maybe Misha can confirm
Enough with the kijiji links already!
My apologies to anyone whose country is missing. If you want a specific country and can't find it, just let me know and I'll see what I can do for you.

Free4uclassifieds
Free4uclassifieds is a free site for Canadians and Americans. It doesn't seem to me that it has a lot of people listing yet, but that's how kijiji started too. You can add a photograph for free as far as I can tell, but to have your ad highlighted there is a $2.00 charge. In addition to ad placement, there are links to free stuff.

Sales Spider
A networking site for small to mid-sized business, Sales Spider has the tagline, Other social networks make you friends. Sales Spider makes you money. This one is all business, and it appears to come fully loaded with classifieds, leads, forums, mail, and events - all for free. All of the ads I skimmed through were network marketing related.
Location options are Canada, United States, and All International.
Sales Spider got over 2,000,000 hits last month.

Highland Classifieds
This is another free online classifieds site that I've used myself, and have been happy with.
Highland Classifieds is easy to use, and free as long as you don't want to add bells and whistles. A nice bonus of using this site is the report of how your ad is doing. You get emails that tell you how many hits you got, and when your ad is due to expire. Renewing is as easy as clicking on the repost button.
Country options are vast.

In Conclusion
There are many more free online classifieds sites. These took me a great deal of time to compile, but if there is enough interest I'd be happy to do another hub on the subject.
Whether you're buying or selling or answering a job ad, use your noggin. None of these sites guarantee that the person you're contacting is legitimate. If something seems odd, avoid it or report it.
Personally, I have never had any problems but I have heard that some people have had some bad experiences. I use these types of sites often (especially kijiji, in case you couldn't tell) to find freelance opportunities. So far, I've always been paid immediately, but I bypass the listings that just don't sound right to me somehow. Scepticism is healthy sometimes, just don't overdo it.
Buy, sell, advertise, and have fun.

Thank-you both so much for commenting!
Msms - I shall try to live up to the expectations and put together more hubs like this one and the other two 'Places To...' Maybe I can make it my signature series or something. =) Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it.
Thanks for this. I never though to look for freelance opportunities on Kajiji.Hope you had a good time in Arizona
Thx, Susan. I just realized that I opened myself up to some awesome competition by giving away my little kijiji secret. :) Seriously, it takes patient looking, there are a lot of listings for technical writers in most of the cities across the country, but other types are much fewer and farther between though they are there. I've gotten projects for a newsletter, press release, and articles for dating sites from kijiji listings....it took 2 months of looking.
I had a wonderful time in Arizona, thx for asking. Can't wait to go back asap. I go a few times a year - love it! I've got a head start on my tan.
Thanks for the great info! :)

Jeromeo, I am going to accept your invitation to drop by for a good read, thx. Good luck with your book, how exciting! I have seen authors advertise on kijiji before, but have never heard how successful it is for them. Perhaps you can report back?
Thanx
Somewhere along the line I lost track of what a decent ad can be worth . Time to bring out the old toolbox again.........
Shirley, great list, also Craigslist and Google offers free ad services for charity organizations.
Grumpyjacksa - give it another go, find yourself some freelancing jobs, or sell something....it's free, all profit! Thx for reading. :)
Cjull8m - thank-you. I intentionally left Craigslist off because everybody knows about them already, but I didn't know that Google offers free ad services for charities - thx for adding that information! :)

You're just a wealth of information! Thank you so much for sharing!
I love doing these kinds of hubs. Hopefully, it can cut down on search time for some folks. I like helping other writers, and there is plenty of work for everyone, it's just a matter of finding the opp that suits you best.
If any of you have success stories from my 'Places To' hubs, I'd love to hear it, maybe put the results in a hub, or edit the hub responsible and add your name and success.
Good luck, all!
thanks for the info

Hi, Mattressguru. I'm glad this hub is helpful to you. Thank-you for commenting.
It's a great article. Is there anybody here who can offer to me excellent absolute free of charge classified ads services where the inserting of an URL is allowed? However I would be happy for SEO friendly free classified ads. Thanks for your response and attention.
Thanks, Hotels. I know that Free4UClassifieds lets you link but I don't know how much traffic they actually get. As far as I can tell, they don't have a lot of listings, at least in Canada. They're free though, so it's worth a try.
Good luck.
Hey Dave, your first link doesn't work. The second works and may have things to offer people looking for free advertising. I didn't explore the site but it looks as though it also has affiliate links.
