There's a lot of interest in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) and with the speed the Internet's moved in recent years this has opened up a whole raft of new opportunities.

It is now possible to teach English online, often using just Skype.  You can teach English online on a one-to-one basis, taking payment online directly with Paypal, or you can teach English online through an organisation that are finding the students for you.

The first step is to become a TEFL tutor, but once you have that you're then free to choose what you do and where you work, so you could simply set up a website, or place newspaper adverts and advertise yourself directly to people that you teach English online.  You would set your own rates of pay and terms, as well as having complete flexibility over your hours.

If you don't have the time/skills to do that, or simply want to just have new TEFL students handed to you on a plate, then find an organisation that will enable you to teach English online through their website and under their name.  You'd be doing a freelance TEFL job for them, without the headache of dealing with any admin or payment issues.

Online TEFL is Here

Online TEFL is now a reality - you can literally be anywhere in the world and still teach English online. If your life involves you moving house regularly, or if you're even planning to go and live abroad, then online TEFL is a way you can build an income for yourself and keep it no matter where you're living.

Take an Online TEFL Course to Get Qualified

The interesting thing about learning to teach English online is you can take an online TEFL course yourself to qualify as a teacher.

Learning English online not only gives you the essential TEFL skills, but also opens your eyes to the issues faced by online students.

You might encounter some technology issues, perhaps broadband reliability issues, PC failure, understanding how to navigate courses online.  This means that your future students will benefit from the knowledge you yourself gain from having gone through the whole online TEFL process yourself.

If you're interested in taking an online TEFL course, so you can teach English online yourself, then why not make some enquiries today.

If you don't want the commitment of teaching English online, then there are other avenues you can explore.  You could, for example, offer English language chat sessions online, through Skype - there are a lot of people who want to improve their English, but aren't learning it, simply improving.
