The Georgia Guidestones

There is a place on a knoll in northeastern Georgia where five granite slabs that have no earthly reason to be there, have been raised in the formation of star. These stones standing at sixteen feet high weighing twenty tons per stone support a twenty five thousand pound capstone, the stones are called the Georgia Guidestones.

Each stone is monolithic in size and they were erected in 1980. Who erected these stones is a mystery, there is no name attached to the stones and the only clues to its origin is the plaque on the ground at its base describing the dimensions and the intricate notches and holes in the stones that correspond to astrological movements like those of the Sun and the stars. But one thing is for sure, the people or the person that built this monolith did it with engineering precision and architectural know how. It was built to withstand the forces of nature like those monoliths of old and will stand for the ages.

Engravings

The Guidestones Message

Each slab has engraved into its polished stone face what appear to be instructions for humanity in eight different languages; English, Russian, Hebrew, Arabic, Swahili, Hindi, Chinese, and Spanish. These instructions or ideals read as follows…

1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.

2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.

3. Unite humanity with a living new language.

4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.

5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.

6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.

7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.

8. Balance personal rights with social duties.

9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.

10. Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

What is Known

What we do know about the guidestones is this; In June of 1979 a gray haired man came to Elbert County Georgia and made his way to the Elberton Granite Finishing Company calling himself Robert C. Christian. He said he was there and was part of a small group of loyal Americans who had been planning a large stone monument. He came to Elberton because it was the Granite capital of the world and he believed that the quarries had the best stone on Earth. The president of the company a Joe Fendley was amazed at what this man had asked him for. He not only wanted the stone from the company but he wanted it cut, finished, polished, and erected into an enormously huge astronomical monument.

When asking the old man what it was for he simply stated it was a structure that would act as a compass, calendar, and clock. He then asked for engravings to be done as well all written in eight different languages and that it be made to stand forever withstanding any catastrophic event so that if the United States or all of humanity were brought to the brink that shattered remaining people of our world could use the guides to reestablish civilization.

The Hype

Since their erection these stones have caused much controversy. Some people say they are the work of a syndicate of wealthy men that are the main players behind the supposed New World Order and the globalization movement. They claim that this monument is there for those that will survive when the master plan to thin humanity is accomplished and be the new law for those that live through those time. Others say those that erected the stones were new age cultists or perhaps ex-hippies since some of the message seems new age in its tone such as the statements Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite, and Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature. Some say it was the Free Masons since the stones have such highly sophisticated architecture and engineering. Who ever designed the stones they have left a lasting impression on the people of the United States as travelers visit the site off the public road named after the monument. They will continue to draw in people with their mystery and their message for the ages.
