The Many Uses of a Camera Phone
If someone had told me that I couldn't live with out a camera growing up I would have thought that they were crazy. Cameras back then required alot of work- you had to make sure you had your camera with you, and then after you took pictures you had to pay money to get them developed, and then you had to go pick them up (sometimes months later) and you never knew if your pictures would come out the way you wanted them to or not.
With the advent of the camera phone picture taking has never been easier.
Not only can you have instant access to a camera, but you can take pictures and use your camera in ways you'd never thought of before.
The first camera cell phone I owned got me hooked - first because of how easy it was to take pictures and secondly, the fact that I had the ability to take pictures whenever I felt like it (assuming I had my phone on me)
Besides my cell phone and my laptop, my camera phone is the next most important tool I use in my life and in my business now.
I can take pictures of job sites and send them back to my partner for instant estimates, I can take pictures of my animals at any time of the day and because the camera is right there I am able to get precious shots of my fur-babies. I have used my camera to email pictures to myself and then make them into comments for my Yuwie and MySpace sites and I have even been able to take pictures in a pinch when someone else had run out of film at a party or wedding.
I have also been fortunate to have my cell phone at the scene of an accident, where I was able to take pictures of the damages to a car, perhaps saving myself the headache of later fighting a court battle over damages. I am currently having to take our waste company to task for knocking down and damaging my fence and some of the key evidence I have of them doing it is- you guessed it right- are pictures of their truck backing into my fence. Fortunately I was able to retrieve my phone fast enough to catch them in the act of driving through my alley, which they Insist they do not go through, but guess what? I have the pictures to prove that wrong not only once, but the three times they cruised through my alleyway, and I caught it all on my camera phone.
The last camera phone I had also had a video function on it, which I've found I sorely miss on my new phone. I was able to actually catch what I believed to be a ghost on my camera phone while at a park one day with my family (I downloaded it to YouTube after I saw what was on it and got some interesting comments)
One of the best things my camera has come in handy for is Craigslisting. I take 4 pictures of each item that I post there, then download them onto the site with a description of the item. Sometimes I use a regular digital camera for this but my digital is not always handy like my camera phone is.
So my camera phone gives me alot of joy, it helps me make money and it helps me be creative in ways I never thought I would use a camera.
Who knows, I might even be a photographer some day!
