Qualities of a Happily Married Couple

This article is in continuation of previous article which describes various intimacy tips for a successful marriage life. In this article, you will find some qualities that you can develop to have a successful and happy married life. Everyone wants their marriage life to be happy. Some couples are just perfect for each other. They understand each other’s feelings, emotions, needs and desires. This does not mean that they do not have problems in their married life, but they know how to tackle such problems and make their partner happy. There are some qualities which you must possess for making your married life smooth and happy.

1. 'Trust' and 'Loyalty' are two important and major factors that could strength any relationship. Never lie to your partner and also never try to hide things that he/she is supposed to know. Be loyal to your partner and have trust on him/her.

2. As it is said that no one is perfect in this world, which means that everyone has some positive and some negative qualities. Accept your partner as he/she is. If you don’t like any of your partner’s habit then you can always tell him/her politely to improve on that habit. Adjustment is what makes the relationship healthy.

3. Support your partner in every phase of life. Try to know each other’s needs and priorities, share responsibilities and take each other’s opinion in whatever you do. This will reflect your care and concern about your partner.

4. Never argue with your partner or never say anything bad to him/her in front of others, as this would make him feel insulted and would really hurt. If your partner has done something wrong, then instead of saying anything in front of anyone, say when you both are alone. Always respect your partner in front of friends and relatives.

5. Always treat each other’s family and friends with respect you might not like some of your partner’s friends and relatives, but always show respect to them because you love your partner and they are your partner’s friends and relatives.

6. If you have done something wrong then there is no harm in apologizing and accepting your fault. Don’t let your ego come in between your relationship – just say ‘Sorry’.

7. The most important thing is to control your anger if your partner is also angry. If your partner is angry then instead of arguing and fighting with him/her, it would be better to calm down yourself. Give your partner some space and time so that his/her mood can get relaxed. It would be better if you never bring issues of the past during any argument.

These are some of the qualities that can create magic for you. If you don’t have these qualities, then you need not worry, you can start developing them from today onwards. These qualities are not very hard to develop but might take some time. Once you have developed them, just see the difference in your married life. It will become more beautiful and romantic.

I agree with your article. I also think that people need to realize, going into a marriage, that's it's NOT a 50/50 deal. There will be times when the divide will be 60/40 or in difficult times, 80/20. The point is that the trials and tribulations of a happy, healthy marriage are going to be there no matter what. As long as both people realize that there will be times when they're going to have to carry more of the load than at other times and vice versa, that's when true balance occurs.
