Tonka Chuck and Friends

Tonka has been creating fun toys for kids for a long time, and Chuck the Talking Truck is one of the newest inventions by Tonka. Chuck and Friends series of talking trucks is geared for children aged 36 months to 6 years old, which is a pretty wide age range. The trucks have many different phrases and sounds, and are fully motorized. Each truck has its own features and motorizations, making each one a little different.

Not only are these Playskool trucks fun and entertaining, but each comes with a book, so you can sit down with your child and read to him or have him read to you, meaning it's educational too! Plus, with the motion sensors on the trucks, they can potentially help younger children better develop hand-eye coordination.

Chuck the truck and his friends will keep your child guessing as to what they'll do next. Just watch out because they may try to drive away if they think they're called in another direction; yes, they drive to you when called, but if the truck picks up the sounds from a TV or radio, they may go that direction instead.

With the cartoonish look, the trucks are that much more fun and silly. The bodies of the trucks are made of a soft rubber so if they drive right into your child, no one will get hurt.

The trucks don't seem to interact with each other, so you could pick your favorite and just have the one talking truck. Of the five talking trucks, Chuck seems to be the favorite among kids, but that doesn't mean that your child won't like Boomer, Rowdy, Tucker, or Handy.

Each truck is a little different with the number of phrases and overall features (lights, movable parts, sounds, etc).

Chuck and Friends

Chuck the Truck- If you life his dump bed, press his bumper, or press his top, he'll drive to you when you call him. Chuck's bumper will move and his dump bed will wiggle when he gets excited. Chuck has over 40 phrases and sounds that will keep your child entertained.

Handy the Tow Truck- Using one of seven phrases, you can get Boomer to talk to you. Phrases like "Hey buddy, hook me up," will be enough to get Boomer talking. There's an easy to grip handle that you can use to turn him around; you can also turn his wheels, lift and lower the tow hook, and hook him to his friends

Rowdy the Garbage Truck- With about 12 different phrases, and the ability to lift and lower the tilt gobbler so that he can put the trash in his compactor, Rowdy gets the job done.

Boomer the Fire Truck- Boomer's ladder lifts up and down, and he has realistic siren sounds. His lights will definitely make on-going traffic aware that he's coming to save the day and put out the next fire.

Tucker the Pickup Truck- Every boy needs a good pickup truck. Tucker has spinning wheels and phrases that will keep you entertained for hours. He'll carry just about whatever you need him to and together you can move just about anything.

Each truck is ready for an adventure. So turn them on and get going.

Had my share of Tonka trucks, they where made of a heavy gauge metal. I guess in todays world they would be considered unsafe, I don't remember any of my friends ever getting hurt, oh well.

Nice hub.

You can never have too many trucks for your Toddlers. We're just now starting to think about toys for our kids for Christmas & you've shed some light on what the latest trends are...

Thanks!
