U.S.A, an Empire Built on Terror, Capitalism and Secret Coups
AN EMPIRE BUILT ON COLLATERAL MURDER AND MILITARY FORCES
A friend recently wrote this comment on one of my hubs. “Any special forces soldier is a true professional who is doing what they are absolutely passionate about. They are also fully prepared to die, preferably doing something which they love so much.” An almost accurate comment and I do agree with him to some extent. Yes definitely, there are some in the special forces who are patriotic, honourable and prepared to die for us.
But did you also know this? The profile of sociopath is someone with an extremely high IQ, has learned impulse control and makes a charismatic and effective leader? When this person wants to tell you that they are honourable, they will look you directly in the eye, show tears of patriotism and make you believe what ever they want you to. Most sociopaths are never discovered as they have mastered the art of manipulation. Why am I talking about sociopaths? Because statistic shows that many of them join the military and I’m sure a small number of these people have also made it into the special forces. And the fact that any human being can shoot, blow up, or torture another human being just doesn't sit well with my principles.
Okay so let’s now talk about plain ordinary soldiers, young men and some women who are also fighting in this pretence U.S funded war on terror. They fit into these three categories.
1) This group are the young, naïve and at times lost. They have no idea what they want in life. So straight after high school they may have thought that this would be a good way to gain some hardcore experience, training and discipline. Bradley Manning was one of these men, and at this moment he is locked up and supposedly being tortured in a military jail. Why? Because he leaked disturbing footage of war crimes committed by U.S soldiers, who were targeting mostly unarmed civilians from a helicopter in Baghdad back in 2007. I’m sure Manning was pretty disturbed and felt that his ethics could not rest until he told the world of a depraved side in the army. Now if you watch this footage called ‘Collateral Murder – WikiLeaks’ You will notice that it looks like these militants appear as though they are playing a violent video game. 2) Now these individuals, I call the sociopaths, such as the culprits of the Collateral Murder – Footage . They lack remorse, shame or guilt and get off on murder, rape and torture, so basically these individuals will use the army as a legal tool in aiding their mental illness. Another perfect example is the massacre of My Lai, during the Vietnam war in 1968. And the architect? William Calley, a former U.S army officer. This Psychopath was callously responsible for the massacre of 109 Vietnamese civilians.
3) And lastly of course, the ones who join the military for the love of country, people or perhaps ego. To die in an honourable way, to be remembered in history books, is surely going to boost their sense of self. Such as Odysseus says in Troy “Men are haunted by the vastness of eternity. And so we ask ourselves: will our actions echo across centuries? Will strangers hear our names long after we are gone, and wonder who we were, how bravely we fought, how fiercely we loved?’
So no I don’t agree that all military personnel have a higher cause than self.
A EMPIRE BUILT ON INVASION
Please don’t get me wrong, I do feel sorry for those soldiers who throughout history were compelled into conscription due to callous leaders. Short lived lives, wasted youth, slaughtered for the price of control. And no doubt I’m sure that there are many honourable military personnel who have protected their country and people. I personally know a few amazing individuals who are in the army and I myself come from a country of war, and I'm in awe of those soldiers who have sacrificed their lives for my own. As I also value the North Vietnamese soldiers who fought against the invasion of the U.S in the 60s. And I also admire the northern Yankees who fought to free the slaves from the South in the 1800’s. Why do I respect these types of soldiers and warfare? Because all this was done on their land, in defence of outside occupation. But, when U.S militants go all over the world, to territory that they have no business in and throw cowardice bombs onto blameless civilians, in such instances as these,

Then I begin to wonder? Do figures such as Bin laden only exist because of the U.S? Who are the real terrorists? Were the previous wars really about communism? Are the current wars in fact to do with terrorism? Maybe it’s a war on fascism? Or is it not a war to build an American empire which was already built on an extreme form of capitalism known as the Washington consensus.
AN EMPIRE BUILT ON SECRET COUPS
America was built on these four things; Theft, secrets, control and capitalism. An empire built with slavery. Yes of course at times they were defending themselves, retaliating and so on. But did you know that since 1945 the U.S government has tried to overtake at least 50 governments? Many of them democracies, most throughout Latin America. And many of these governments were democratically elected by their people.
Just one example; in 1970 the democratically elected Chilean president Salvador Allende, was a threat to American business interest. So what did they do? President Nixon funded the CIA to overthrow this government and a violent coup took place in 1973 and was replaced by the military dictatorship of General Pinochet. And how ironic that this Coup happened with planes throwing bombs onto the presidential palace on September 11th, almost thirty eight years ago. The official death toll was 3197 thousand, almost identical to the numbers killed in the U.S September 11th 2001. Several hundred citizens were gunned down in the Santiago soccer stadium which was later turned to a concentration camp and torture centre. Others were shot in the street, kidnapped, tortured, raped and murdered. This U.S backed brutal fascist regime was maintained for 17 years through terrorism.
So there you have it, one example upon many of terror inflicted or funded by the U.S. government. Why? To fight Communism? Or what is just another way to gain control in South America and impose their neoliberal economic agenda? Or to simply restore the local elite to power and promote foreign investment.
Similar attacks and invasions by the U.S have also been on Guatemala, Nicaragua, Panama, El Salvador and Honduras. Have you heard of the school of Americas? Based in the U.S in Georgia? Well this is where General Pinochet’s torture squads were reportedly trained along with tyrants and death-squad leaders in Haiti, El Salvador, Brazil and Argentina. These torture squads were created in order to destroy any government who did not subscribe to their form of regime.
A EMPIRE BUILT ON FALSE PROPAGANDA
Now opposing views may claim that Bin laden has been funding terrorist campaigns since the 70’s. But do we know this for sure? How do we know that this was not all just a conspiracy and that he wasn’t just been used as a tool and disfigured by their right wing media? We all have heard the theory that the war on terror all has to do with oil money etc, but I won’t go into all that right now as It will entail me to write a book just on this subject alone. What I want to go into though is, how many terrorist campaigns have the U.S funded? For example, how long has the U.S been funding Israel and their Zionist movement? Which has contributed to the death of almost 300,000 civilians? What about the funding to fight communist in Vietnam which slaughtered approximately 60,000 of their own youths. Conscription and democracy just don’t mix. How much money has been spent on the wars in both Iraq and Afghanistan? In the Trillions I assume. And is it fair for us to assume that part of the Global financial crisis was part due to these wars. Is this why the U.S is also almost bankrupt and in a 55 trillion dollar debt, and have you noticed how the U.S dollar is dropping? http://www.usdebtclock.org/
So there you have it, a story about a collapsing empire, A ideal model for fascism, originally built with the blood of slaves. Built with the annihilation of real democracies throughout Latin America. Built with the theft of oil and eradication of human lives. Built on lies, corruption and sly operations. And now this empire is sinking deep into darkness, May the God who it trusts forgive this land of the free and home of the brave.
