If you are a fan of Chinese food and you have an urge to go for the best Chinese dining experience in South Delhi, I will provide you the best options for an impeccable Chinese meal coupled with a beautiful ambience which reflects the Chinese culture.

Mainland China

This expensive but authentic Chinese restaurant is located right next to Imperial Garden in GK-2 Delhi. The exact address is plot #4, local shopping center, GK- II New Delhi 48. Mainland China has other branches in Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai. Last Sunday, I went to this place with my family. The food out there is quite good and probably one of the best Chinese in Delhi outside 5 stars for Chinese cuisine. Mainland China is good value for money and per person cost would not exceed 400 to 500 (on upper side) with desert and dimsum (without drinks). Do try their Siomai recipe (dimsums with black pepper sauce), as it’s quite good. Also, a few of their poultry items are well done. Service is good and ambiance is perfect according to the Chinese culture. Their music is great and there is more distance between tables. After dining at their Bangalore, Mumbai, and Chennai outlet, I can safely say that food is no different across the cities and it is an excellent place for Chinese cuisine, not to be missed at all. I also loved their ambience, their service, and most of all the food. Their crackling spinach is a dish you have to try and smartly they never serve it as part of their buffet menu which is also excellent with prawn, fish, chicken, and other vegetarian delights as part of snacks and main course dishes, and plenty of sweet dishes thrown in and did I forget to mention the chilled glass of beer you get on the house. Regarding buffets, yes Mainland China’s buffets are total value for money. They serve lunch sit down buffet at Rs 600 + taxes which has 16 items and also for ladies kitty party during lunch, they are giving package of Rs 500 + taxes, so Mainland China is a good place for small get-togethers too.

China Garden

The next best place for eating out Chinese food in South Delhi is ChinaGarden. It is located again in Gk-II but in M Block Market (right next to subway). They have an amazing ambience and even better food. As for the prices, yes it is a bit overpriced but you would not mind paying that sum after you have tasted their food once.

Ching Wah

This is another good Chinese restaurant located in A-18A Main Road, Central Market, Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. I tried this place a month back when I went to a friend’s house in Amar Colony, Lajpat Nagar. I recommend you to try this place out because the food indeed was decent. The quantity too was amazing for two people. All we ordered was vegetarian noodles (Rs 100) and chicken in black bean sauce (Rs. 200) along with a glass of fruit beer (Rs. 55). The bill was about 355 bucks and it was worth the price as the ambience too was amazing. The noodles tasted unique and their chicken in black bean sauce was pretty tasty. Besides this, they also serve liquor at reasonable prices.

China Bowl

This is another authentic Chinese restaurant located in Satya Niketan Market opposite to the famous VenkateswaraCollege (Venky’s) next to CCD. This is my cousin brother's most favorite Chinese joint. Other branches are located in Vasant Kunj and East Patel Nagar. We went to China Bowl in Satya Niketan last Friday and ordered fiery green/red fish and simple chicken momos which were really good. For main course, we ordered shredded chicken with green/red chilies, Cheng do dice with chicken with chili hakka noodles and Schezwan chicken rice. Noodles were almost near the Mainland China's standard. Rice was also good, better than other so called "authentic Chinese" joints like The Golden Dragon Restaurant and Bar in Vasant Vihar. Cheng do dice chicken was really good and the essence of Chinese herbs were adding another star to it. All in all, I would rename China Bowl as “poor man's Mainland China”. Total cost for 3 was just Rs. 700 to 800. For ambiance and decor of China Bowl, please don't set very high expectations, but it's decent though. What else you can expect from a college goers eating joint in expensive South Delhi.

The above restaurant tips are not only meant for Indians but are also meant for people from other countries who are going to visit Delhi for the first time. This information will serve as a Chinese food guide for travelers to Delhi.
