What are the criteria to measure popularity of a web site? The total number of visits or the level of satisfaction of users to a site might give a clue to determine the most popular websites of our world. In fact, there is no defined way to measure up how popular a site is. Google has recently published the total number of views to the top 1000 sites of the world, and certainly Google’s data can be a good source in guessing the popularity of websites spread across the world wide web.

1.Facebook.com- According to Google AdWord Planner data, in 2010, Facebook has received the highest number of unique visitors among all the websites--590 millions unique visitors. Its total pageviews are 760,000 millions and they have around 38% of the global Internet audience reach.

2. Youtube.com-this online video sharing site has 31.4 percent reach among all Internet users. In 2010 ,YouTube received 490 millions unique visitors and 92,000 million page views.

3. Yahoo.com is in number three position in terms of total number of visitors-400 millions. Their total page view was 70,000 and 25.8% reach

4. Live.com - the number four positing belongs to live.com with 330 million unique visitors, 37,000 million unique page views and 21.3 % reach.

5. Wikipedia.org- in2010 also Wikipedia showing strong performance in terms of unique visitor. Their total number of unique visitors was 260 million with 6,400 million page view and 16.4% reach.

6. Msn.com – Their web portal’s reach was 16.2 percent with 250 millions unique visitors and 13,000 million page views.

7. Baidu.com- this Chinese search engine showing no sign of losing popularity and they not only holding the number of position in china but also are in number seven position in terms of unique visitors, 230 millions. Last year (2010) Baidu receive 110, 000 million page view and their reach was 14.8%

8. Blogspot.com- Google’s blog is still the most popular blog in the world with 210 millions unique visits and 13.4% reach. In 2010, they receive 4,800 million page views.

9. Microsoft.com-this software giant’s web site is received 190 millions unique visits with 3,300 million page views.

10. QQ.com-According to Google ad planner data, this Chinese web portal received 190, million unique visits last year. QQ has 12.2% reach with 53,000 millions page view
