Theodor (Ted) Seuss Geisel aka Dr Seuss was born 1904 and died 1991. He e published his most famous book The Cat in the Hat 1957. This book has sold over 10 million copies not even including those sold by Random House Scholastic program.
One of Dr Seuss' most famous quotes was "person is a person no matter how small". Actually it took 27 publishers turning Seuss down before his first book called "And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street" was published in 1937.
I am so glad he did not give up and that someone published his work. My childen love all the Dr Seuss books and I love reading those with them. To celebrate his 106th birthday go pick up a Dr Seuss book today and read it with your child! If you have any kids under 10 in your home I bet there will be at least one of his books somewhere in your household! Thank you Dr Seuss for everything you've done to children's literacy!
