Moments to treasure: A day at St Davids .
Last Bank Holiday Monday we took the grandchildren to St Davids ( Tyddewi) in South Wales and what a wonderful day we had.
St Davids Cathedral lies in St Davids City and can only be described as one of the most enchanting gems in the UK let alone Wales.
Although called a 'City' it is in fact a miniature city being no larger than a village in fact and is the spiritual heart of Wales.
It was traditionally founded by the Welsh patron St David himself back in 550 AD and has since drawn many pilgrims the world over for a millennium and a half.
I took a couple of snaps of the inside of the cathedral before being politely told that no photos were allowed to be taken without a permit.
Therefore I have added some that I found with the correct credits attached.
I hope you enjoy our visit as much as we did.
My song choice today is our National Anthem sung in our mother language Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau. (Land Of Our Fathers).
Magical musings
Rich echoes of yesteryear
My pride so fitting.
Raging in torrents
Treasured mystique and romance
Together to love.
Breathtaking beauty
Mesmerised and mystified
Entranced forever.
Slipping back in time
Each nook each cranny cherished
Almost seductive.
Like a velvet cloak
Emotions soft and so sleek
Tender and flowing.
Those historic gems
Oh yes ripe for the picking
Come taste and savour.
Lanes and sweet blossoms
Golden trails of wondrous worth
Hearts filled with beauty.
Free flowing laughter
Children's enjoyment so true
Memories cherished.
To end the day these photos of kids and big kid having fun ha ha ha !!!!
