My Heart Sings A Song Of Pride.
I came across these photos in my 'photos tidy up' mode !!!
Initially I suppose they brought back sad memories !! I shall tell you a little more!!
These photos are of the small Welsh sea-side town called Aberaeron where I grew up.
Myself and my sister grew up in a Chapel going family and we were also prominent in the community.
However things were far from right and I suffered terrible abuse from a twisted and cruel father !!!He was imprisoned after I reported the abuse to a teacher in school when I was twelve years old.
I left when I was seventeen ;not too far away but I did not return to the town for years ;that is until about a year or so ago !!!
Our granddaughter Ellie was staying with us and out of the blue one Sunday I felt the need to visit again!!
Oh how strange it felt to return but by then I had already faced up to my childhood and had moved on so returning was not as big a deal as it would have been a decade earlier.
I slowly but surely saw the beauty in the harbour;the gorgeous Welsh Cob statue outside The Feathers Hotel (an added feature), the stunning riverside walk complete with 'Lovers Bridge' and 'The Wishing Well.'
Finally and the most touching of all was the wonderful countryside where I spent so many days exploring with my beloved Beagle Lassie at my side.
To top it all Ellie loved her day out and named the town 'Balamory' after the children's TV series.
You will understand what an apt name this was when you see the photos below.
Here is one of my favourite songs 'I Believe' sung by Rhidian a wonderful Welsh singer with a golden voice.
In the early morning magic
Her prowess glowing;
Confucius consecrating
Each newly born wonder.
x
My heart doth lead
Each footsteps so sure;
I share with great pride
From so deep in my core.
One Harbour Of Love.
A harbour of love
Nestling in a wondrous sleep
Soft waters lapping.
x
Unconditional
A strong heart sings out proudly
Courageous and true.
Standing So Proud.(A majestic statue along with some beautiful Welsh Cobs at the annual Show.)
Oh standing so proud
So majestic and awesome
Our own Welsh Cob.
x
.
A journey so proud
Revelations cascading
My heart oh so true.
x
Yesterday's heartache
Has now so surely evolved
To today's blossoms.
The River Of Life.
Deep inside the earth
A splutter and a gurgle
Shimmering new birth.
x
Over obstacles
She will strongly meander
Learning wrong from right.
x
Learning from each day
Which estuary is mine
Sweet river of life.
I Walk On In Wonder With My lassie.
To walk on
in
sweet wonder
retracing footsteps ;
nostalgia flooding through;
memories of myself with my Lassie
by my side;
the winds of today
refreshing
and freeing
those invisible
but
oh so strong
chains from
yesteryear.
Feelings of pain and fear
diminish
and
cascade
back into the realms
of oblivion !!!
In their place a wondrous
paradise,
full of sunshine and laughter;
beauty and love;
sweet memories of
a child running through
the fields
her best friend
her soulmate
her all by her side!!!
Oh yes her Lassie
always at her heels
running together,
learning from
Mother Nature's
unconditional lessons
of
love and beauty.
Exploring
each nook and cranny
of each hill overhead ;
of each valley below!!!
Not a single
acre of love;
a golden gem
or a
rainbow's end
left untouched .
Today it all so magically
fills me
with a warmth
full of sweet love.
The ability to understand.
A comprehension
so dear
and
so sweet
made magical
from the knowledge
that I have
overcome
and today
see a wondrous beauty .
A beauty
which I so eagerly share
with one and all;
thus enabling
each heart
to flow and fly ;
as free as a bird
on the wing.
A free as I am today !!!
Some beautiful photos of my home town complete with pics of Ellie having fun.
So easy to see why Ellie named it Balamory!!Notice the similarity between the pastel painted houses of Balamory and Aberaeron.
I hope you all enjoyed today's hub and remember there is always beauty behind each darkness ; and I sure am glad I returned to see the beauty on this day.
Have a wonderful day and I send you lots of love from my little corner of Wales..
Eddy.
