Paws in the Water
Here's a secret: I went through a furry phase. This poem was written during that phase of my life and is very representative of the way that I was feeling at the time: trapped. In the comments section of this hub you can see a conversation between Cris A and me that talks a bit about this poem's origins.
I simply love the feeling of this poem. I can remember the feelings I experienced during this time in my life by reading through the piece you are about to read and feel that this poem in particular is a very true experience of who I am as a person annd as a writer.
I consider this piece prose and believe that it is one of the most outstanding pieces I have ever written. The poem is pre-edited and I am not looking to change it. Thanks for reading! Feedback is always appreciated!
Paws in the Water -- A Poem
Her paws are in the water, damp, soaked and cold
but she will not move away nor embrace the chill.
She could live here, spreading herself thin on her dreams
or she could dance in the sea, if only she weren't afraid.
Time is a spiral, moving outwards for her
but she cannot join it to spin her way out of control.
She is trapped in this place, a world between worlds
and that is how it is meant to be. Few would understand
and she will not try to explain.
So she keeps her paws in the water. Still.

Safe Haven, by Nicholas Sparks, was one of the worst novels that I've read in two years. This is my thoughtful critical review of the book, with the hopes the author might read it.
Early pregnancy is exciting, and when you're trying to conceive, there are a lot of symptoms that you might not know about. I've tried to cover the majority of pregnancy symptoms here. Good luck!
