Prose - How To Live

Live a life of surprise
In your gifts
With no expectation
No disappointment
Or suffering

Live a life of thinking
By your mind
With no moderation
No limits
Or censuring

Live a life of freedom
To be yourself
With no restraint
No fear
Or hesitating

Live a life of peace
With your neighbor
With no demands
No trespass
Or coveting

Live a life of caring
For the poor
With no greed
No scorn
Or neglecting

Live a life of truth
To yourself
With no lies
No fraud
Or deceiving

Live a life
Worth living
With no waste
No sloth
Or sleeping

Thank you for a lovely and gentle reminding of the wisdom of the golden rules of life that we should all remember to live by everyday. Voted up, useful, awesome, beautiful, and interesting have bookmarked, and added to my FB wall...

Beautiful words to keep in mind to live a good life but, alas when faced with the reality of life...we root for negativity and retaliation.

Your verse reminds us all that we could probably do a little bit more to make this life a worthwhile one. Good stuff! WB

Great piece, SP! Bookmarked to use and pass along, and I love the picture! Are we all eating the same thing?

@Thelma - Thank you! I appreciate you (and everyone) overlooking the presumptuous title. As if I know how to live. Yes that is funny but I think there are some things that help us all and I tried to make a stab at it with this one.

@missolive - Thank you! I had my children in mind when I wrote it especially my son who is a high school freshman. I am trying to fill him up with confidence and an idea of how to move forward in life.

@justmyopiniontoo - Thank you. I wanted more than the Golden Rule which of course is awesome if that is all one can remember.

@K. Burns - Thank you and I am very honored for the bookmark and place on your FB wall. That is so cool. I try to think about the ideal of life and I know I'm so far from it but you have to provide yourself some direction and that is what I tried to do here...

@Ruchira - Thank you and you are so right. Why is it that negative feelings and resentment have such power over our minds instead of hope and encouragement? We know we need it and yet we are unable to provide it to others.

@Wayne - Thanks man. Yeah just a little bit more might be a whole lot more... maybe we'd surprise ourselves... everyone knows how good it feels to help someone or to give... why don't we remember?

@Teylina - Thank you! Another bookmark! I love it. I guess we're all eating the same cheese...
