United Effort can help remove all evils !
Be silent don’t speak a word
That’s what they want
You watch and listen helplessly
as you don’t have the courage to speak up
You fear that if you protest
you may have to pay a heavy price
your blood boils but you keep calm
You find no choice
You look in the mirror
and hate yourself
You clench your fists
bang on the wall in closed door
Your mind cannot accept
the happenings that surround you.
You have sleepless nights
tossing and turning on your bed
often looking on the ceiling and
listening to barking of the dogs
in the midnight.
You fall asleep for a while
And wake up
Was it a dream and if it was
who did you dream of who slowly
helped you get back your
strength of mind.
Who will bell the cat is no longer
a question that bothers you anymore
You jump up from bed and say to yourself
Enough is Enough
And you, along with many who had
kept quiet all along helplessly,
join hands and come out
to the open raising
your voices against all atrocities
And your movement this time starts to frighten those
who had frightened you
and tried to keep your mouth shut.
They still try to keep their stand
and watch you from a distance
hoping that your unity would
be fragile and they can pounce
upon you but this time your mind
is fixed, strong, and many many
hands now join you making your
Grip strong and stable
You are now in a position
to fight back and make your
voices heard loudly
Your joint effort finally removes
the black cloud that had thickened
and now starts to disappear
and you all smile with the sunshine
falling on your faces.
Your children look at you
in admiration as you come home
and tiptoeing your bedroom they
feel so happy to see you having
a good and peaceful sleep at night.
