"Wounded Love": A Poem Enriched with Sadness
My eyes open in darkness,
Can't see, can't do,
But wait, I hear a crack.
It is me, my heart in two.
Now, just imagine a 12 year old writing this poem. This was the first poem I ever wrote. My teacher didn't know what to think at that time. I always found myself writing poetry, but using an imaginatory world that ran parallel to my own. It made it so simple to write.
To this day, 20 years later, I am still writing. However, it is more of the real world and my beautiful wife. I tend to write to her more often than just writing to write. But in the months to come, I will be adding more and more to my poetry line. I have way too much poetry to let it sit in a box or folder for no one to see it.
Thank you for taking the time to read this one and I hope you enjoy my future writings.
- First Blind Date: How I Met My Wife
How ironic, from openning my eyes to darkness when I was 12 to going on my first blind date 13 years later meeting my wife.
