You Will Know Love

You will know love
When you rid yourself of desire
You will know love
When you no longer demand or require
You will know love
When you set someone free
You will know love
When your faith flows gently
You will know love
When you live and let live
You will know love
When you do not ask and instead give
You will know love
When you can accept another’s choices
You will know love
When you listen to other voices
You will know love
When you honor the life of another
You will know love
When you liberate instead of smother
You will know love
When you understand a problem
You will know love
When you try to help them
You will know love
When a vow is renewed
You will know love
When your destiny is understood
You will know love
When you let yourself go
You will know love
When your heart tells you so

Mark! This should be a maxim! It is all so true and well describes what love IS and does! Gets all my votes.

wish I wrote this one Mark which is the ultimate compliment I could give to another writer -you may be a suburban poet but you 'own' the 'city' too - hubawesome - and you are really something else!!!!!!

You write some beautiful poetry here. "When you liberate instead of smother." I really like that line. Keep em coming.

@Deborah - Thank you!

@Nellianna - I just tried to imagine what life could be like without personal hang-ups.

@Epi - That is a huge complement coming from you my man; like I said, I'm just trying to keep up with your prolific pace.

@Ruby - Thank you. So many times we cling too hard; we should be liberating to another person. That is what everyone wants anyway.

@christin - Thank you! I think we smother out of fear; we look for validation and end up controlling.

@WannaB - Thank you for reading!

@mottiandbander - Thank you and you make me smile too!
