    My eye's fill with her
    I take her in
one secret stolen gaze  at a time
The delicacy of her thin arms wrapped
    one around my shoulder
    and the other tangled
    wantingly
    in my hair

    I am mesmerized by each
    sound she  makes
I will never get this out of
    my mind
    Her...... this long sought woman
    of need
    She has always been there
in so many women I see
    Parts of her vision lie
    in each beauty that I
    meet

Still  the best is yet to come
is it not?  I saw her again today
    and she smiled
Does she now my needs ?
Does she have the same visions?
When she hands me my receipt
    Her warm  fingers
    linger a few seconds
    too long
    Yes I think !
    it's her

The one I've been waiting for
    Took but a moment
    And love was already
    At the door

    I asked her her name,
    And she told me, Ella.
    Well Ella, I laughed
    I'm a lucky fella!
    So I invited,
    With curious glance,
    To determine our luck
    At budding romance:
    A stroll through the park
    One day after hours,
    Pick violets and chat and
    And relish the forest.

    The evergreens
    Enchanted our way...
    And she playfully hid
    Along the way.
    Ella, oh Ella...
    Where could you be,
    Are you hiding
    Behind that tree?
    Are you beckoning
    With long slender branch
    Are you willing
    To give me a chance?

    Alas, you hide and
    Trick me so...
    Should I so soon
    Let you go?
    Listen, listen...
    What do I hear,
    Could it be,
    You are calling me "Dear?"
    But alas, you descend
    And run out of sight...
    I'll be looking for you
for the rest of the night.

    I see her walking
    On the beach.
    A tall tanned beauty
    Out of reach.
    Why should I follow?
    What would she say?
    So many follow
    Every day.

    I throw my frisbee,
    She turns around
    She stares at the frisbee
    On ground.
    Feeling embarrassed,
    I pull my hat lower,
Thrust my hands in my pockets
    And walk much slower.

    "Forget it," I say.
    "Easy" say I.
    But as I proceed,
    I see the disk fly.
    I catch the frisbee,
    Like a football.
    And she smiles at me,
    After-all.

    Waiting at the bus stop,
    A real looser:
    Smoking a cigarette
    From the 60's.

    He hasn't evolved
    In all these years.
But he stands in the shadow,
    Grinning.

    His clothes are hip,
    His white hair, cool.
    I perceive much
    From his being.

    He knows fun
    And instant ignition.
    I see muscles
    And power.

    Cigarette smoke
    Encircles about him:
    His protection, his enclosure,
    His barrier.

    No one dares to
    Intrude upon him
As he waits at the bus stop
    For hours.

    He waits like a tiger
    With no more pounce,
    Reigning in life...
    In the shadows.

    He grins to himself
    Reminiscing the good days,
    Standing alone,
    In his oldness.
