iWrite - A personal journey

Updated on March 26, 2011
I write because I was born with a pen in my hand!
I write because I was born with a pen in my hand!

iWrite

Because I was born to do so

Flying out with a pen in my hand

And a piece of paper as my diaper

My mind already full of ideas

Ready to be read

iWrite

Because I was taught the love of stories

Before going to school

While I was in school

I even made my own hardcover book

The story was lacking

But it started my writing adventure

iwrite

Because I am obsessive

Obsessive with the English language

And how changing the words can make poetry

Draw a picture

Tell a story

Cause a break through of emotions that I never thought was possible

iWrite

Because it is freeing

It takes me away

I can make up my own story

Escape from reality

When I am in my writing world

Nothing on the outside matters

There is no one home

iWrite

Because I joined the military

I didn’t want to blow things up

I didn’t want to work on sick people

I didn’t want to be stuck filing papers

I wanted to do something that made a difference

I wanted people to enjoy my work

I wanted to be noticed

I was a local celebrity

I wrote for the military

And suddenly people wanted my help

iWrite

Because I believe everyone needs a journal

Because my journal is my best friend

It never judges me

It never comments back

It is a good listener

Even if it can’t help solve problems

iWrite

Because that is how I communicate with myself

It is how I figure out the arguments in my mind

It is how I clear my head

It is like an imaginary friend

iWrite

Because it is my dream

I want to be published

I want to be famous

Because the words I say meant something

Even if it is to someone I never met

iWrite

To inspire

To help people

To give advice

To make them laugh

To make them open their eyes

iWrite

To express my love

To express my anger

To express my feelings

That I can not express through

Vocal word

iWrite

Because words are beautiful

And it sure beats my singing voice

iWrite

Because it paints a picture

And I can not draw

Because this is my art form

And I understand how to use it

iWrite

Mostly…

Because that is who I am

Writing is me!

The Rules

This article was inspired by fellow hubber Colby Alan who has challenged others to do something similar. Because I am always up for a good challenge, I decided to make my very own.

Write your own "iWrite" essay. There's only one rule: Each stanza must relate specifically to your life in some way. Tell mini stories with each stanza. They should be...you.

If you would like to partake in this challenge, link back to this hub and the original "iWrite" post, then contact Colby Alan so yours can be linked to the original as well. Good luck and have fun!

On another note:

If you have found this article and found that you would like to become a member of Hubpages, so you too can take part of these types of challenges, sign up is free. Just click here and start your writing journey with the rest of us in this community!

Disclaimer: This site can be highly addictive. There has been no known cure out there for this addiction. While it isn't a bad addiction, it can cause excessive thoughts and ideas for future hubs and the ability to meet many creative people. Now come and join us!
