Poems For Christmas For Kids
I Believe in Santa
Having faith in Santa Claus
Is not for just the young,
I know I'll keep proclaiming him
As long as I've a tongue;
And even though I see the gent
Unmasked before my eyes,
Revealing some familiar friend
Who's donned the quaint disuise,
It doesn't change my mind a bit;
I'll still believe, because
There's more than whiskers
and a suit
To dear old Santa Claus;
Bright hopes there are,
And dreams come true,
Good cheer, unselfish sharing
Personified by gifts of love
Within the pack he's bearing.
To call these angels "Santa Claus"
Is surely not deceiving,
So I, for one, will never scoff
But go right on believing.

Christmas
This is an acrostic {acrostic per Webster dictionary is a composition usually in verse in which sets of letters (as the initial or final letters of the lines) taken in order form a word or phrase or a regular sequence of letters of the alphabet}
This acrostic is for nine children. Each child carries a large red piece of cardboard, which can be shaped like the letter they represent or shaped like a tree ornament with the letter they represent on it.
Put two sided tape on the back of each piece of cardboard, or punch a small hole at the top of each letter and securely insert a small piece of string and tie it at the end.
After the performance the child can tape his ornament to a Christmas tree wall decoration made just for this special ornament hanging occasion or hang his ornament on a Christmas tree.
FIRST
C is for the choir that sang
A shining host of angels bright;
They winged o'er Bethlehem of old
Amid a flame of glorious light.
SECOND
H is for the herald star,
The ray that shone o'er Bethlehem
And by lt's light the Christ was crowned
With holy, mystic diadem.
THIRD
R is for Redeemer King;
For Jesus came to seek and save
And on the height of Calvery
His life for men He gave.
FOURTH
I is for the Infant Lord,
Christ came to earth as Baby small;
In human form He lived and served,
A great Example for us all.
FIFTH
S is for the Sages true
Who sought and found the Jewish King;
As a holy sign of faith
Richest treasures they did bring.
SIXTH
T is for the tidings blest
That echoed over hill and plain;
"A Savior now is born to you!"
Again we hear the holy strain.
SEVENTH
M is for the morning bright
That Jesus brought to all the earth,
For doubt and fear have taken flight
And men proclaim his power and worth.
EIGHT
A is for the anthem sweet,
The "glory song" of angel throng
That every ear may gladly greet
When blessed Christmas comes along.
NINTH
S is for the story dear,
The Christmas story that we love;
In gratitude it's word we hear
And send our praising songs above.
IN UNISON
Christmas! Day we gladly keep,
Natal day of Christ the Lord;
O'er the world in accents deep
We'll send our praise in sweet accord.
The children may exit singing a favorite Christmas carol, and then still singing place the letters on the Christmas tree or other wall or standing decoration.
Christmas Joy
A loving gift, a happy wish,
And a pleasant smile or two,
Will scatter joy at Christmas time,
A joy that comes back to you.
