Print on Demand Decor
Choose Your Style
If you are looking for artwork to decorate your home, bed and breakfast, cafe, or office, you do not have to settle for images everyone has seen.
You can find an exciting array of unique and beautiful prints online. Thousands of rich landscapes, elegant still lifes, evocative portraits, and dramatic abstracts from around the world are yours at the click of a mouse.
This astonishing diversity is available because of new print on demand (POD) technologies. Poster printing sites are popping up all over the Web. Most have great search engines. You can select work by color, shape, style, medium, subject, or artist.

Feature Your Own Photographs
If you have a new digital camera, you might want to show off your own work. Most print-on-demand sites allow you to upload files. Choose vacation shots, portraits of your favorite people, pictures of ships, trains, rodeos, your kids' drawings, or whatever makes you smile.
For optimum quality, send the largest file you can. Check the site's recommendations for minimum and maximum pixel dimensions. Most sites prefer 4 - 8 megapixel resolution jpegs (maximum compression quality) saved at 300 dpi.
Once your file is uploaded, pick the format that suits your room, and order. The companies will send your selections either rolled in a tube, or completely framed.
All art and photography in this hub is by Linda Armstrong.
A Quick Warning
A word to the wise--if you submit photos of original art, make sure that you own the copyright. Buying a painting, drawing, or print does NOT give you reproduction rights, Similarly, you cannot reproduce pictures of other people's quilts, duck decoys, or sculptures. Some landmarks, like the lone cypress above the ocean near Monterey, California, are also protected.
Order Pictures in the Best Sizes for Your Space
You can order most prints in a variety of sizes from 8" x 12" up to 20" x 30." Various surfaces are available. They include matt, glossy, and even real artist's canvas.
If you are ordering a print as a gift, be sure to allow adequate time for delivery. Each print is made for you, and many sites have a 24 hour turnaround, but shipping can be unpredictable and express service does cost more.
