Triumph Tulips
The Best All-Round Tulips
Triumph Tulips are old-fashioned, dependable and versatile. Flowers are prized for their traditional tulip shape and silky texture, and for performing as well inside as out. Inside, they are probably the best tulips for forcing and their flowers will last weeks. Outside, their strong stems will stand up to strong winds, making them one of the best tulips for exposed sites.
Triumphs are very popular, and they make up the largest tulip class, with well over 1000 varieties. These include not only vivid reds and yellows, but also subtle pastels shades, stripes and streaks.
These are mid-height tulips (about 16"-22"/40-56cm), which flower in late April and early May at about the same time as Darwin Hybrid Tulips and Single Late Tulips, and just before Parrot Tulips, Lily Tulips, Peony Tulips (Double Late), Viridiflora and some Fringed Tulips (See Buying Tulip Bulbs).
