I am a stay at home grandma, 3 grown kids, 9 grand babies, 2 puppies. They all are very excitable and enthusiastic. Luv the great Northwest.

I really enjoy making tie blankets

I love making the tie blankets, I make one every time I have another grand child or because they need a new one or just for the fun of it. They are super easy to make and do not take a lot of time. And with all the materials out there today, they can be really exciting to make.

I made my first tie blanket sixteen years ago for my very first grandson who is now in high school learning to drive. A couple of years ago, I made him another one to fit his size and of course one with upgraded material to suit his age as well, he loves it! I made another one for my other grandson which was very cool because I stitched his entire full name on the blanket and stitched a sticker on it "to grandson from grandma with love." These kind of fleece tie blankets are especially loving, caring, and an absolute joy to make. I loved making them all and haven't stopped making them since. They are such a delight to the kids, they love them so much and its a personal thing you made for them and if you like, you can add names on them or personal designs and decorations to enhance the look to what you like or the person who you are giving it to likes. I am just not sure that I will ever be able to stop making fleece tie blankets, they please me and the people I make them for very much.

Tie Blankets

I have here very easy step by step instructions on how to make your very own fleece tie blanket. It will only take you a couple hours to make.

Making a tie blanket is so easy and so much fun, anyone can do it. It is affordable and very personable to make your own blanket or give it as a gift to a friend or family member, they are very popular, very warm and very soft, everybody loves the tie blanket.

The one I have made below is one that I had made for a close friend of mine when she was due to have her baby. She absolutely love it. It is so cute and adorable. These blankets really do last a long time, they are so soft, inviting, and cozy. I guarantee that anyone that makes a fleece tie blanket will enjoy it for a very long time.

Making Your Own Tie Blanket

Step 1: Select and buy two yards of fleece fabric of your own choosing to your liking, also buy two yards more of fleece fabric to match for the backing of your blanket. this is enough material to fit a twin size bed and also a good size throw blanket for the couch. But you can actually select the amount you desire to make it bigger or smaller.
Step 2: Lay both pieces of fabric down so that the insides of the fabric face each other and the corner's and edges are lined up with each other.
Step 3: Cut out four 5 inch squares out of each corner, cutting both pieces of fabric at the same time.
Step 4: Cut one inch strips the same length of the five inch squares on the edging of the fabric, cutting both pieces of the fabric at the same time, cut all the way around the entire edging of the fabric.
Step 5: Now tie a knot in each strip(front and back pieces together), all the way around the whole edging to join the two pieces of fabric together, and there you have a tie blanket. It is much fun and such a wonderful gift to give. And who ever receives your gift will remember this gift for a very long time. They are very memorable.

Also, another really fun project is to learn how to make a drawstring backpack. They are super cute and you can make it look like whatever you want it to look like.

Also, don't forget to learn how to crochet in your spare time, you get to make really fun things for everybody and it is quite fun to do. it really is a great pass time.
