A Days Work A Days Pay
Where Did All My Money Go
We start off on the right foot working hard and earning a buck
Thinking some day soon
We will have more than we ever imagined
We talk to ourselves constantly like an insane person
I know I can do this and this
It is really not that hard
Work a little
Save a little
Work alot
Save alot
Catch me if you can we boast openly
Before you know it
We are hooked like a flounder dangling in thin air
We can flip and flop but it will soon be us on the end of the line
It looked so easy
A little nibble here
A little nibble there
So what happens if we spend a little more this week
We will work extra hard next week and make up for it
What if we skimp on the savings this month
Next month I will put a little more in for sure
Soon your savings dwindles
Soon the bills start piling up
Look close they now have a body of their own
Like a demon possessed
They are not a distant cousin you haven't seen for awhile
Who drops in unexpectedly
More like long lost relatives who are here for a weekend and won't leave
They haunt you like your old boss you couldn't avoid
No matter how much you try
Look away little fella this is only the beginning
Once you open the door and they get their foot in
Your home is like an ant farm and there is one after another lining up
So for all humanity
Watch your money
Go back to the basics
Work some save some
Don't work too much or you will feel you owe it to yourself
To spend and splurge
You will convince yourself
You deserve that nice big high definition t.v.
That new couch you won't have time to sit on
Be smart keep the rolls of money in your pocket
Don't reach for that plastic leech card
That will suck all your money from you night after night while you sleep
Be smart you don't have to go out to eat 7 days a week
You can easily fall in the trap
You might think this is easy and I can get out of this
So many have tried and their bones cover the floor all the way to the door
One time you may be lucky
The next time you are prey for all the hunters
As you struggle and wonder how could I get in such a mess
I was doing so good
Now the banker isn't laughing at your jokes no more
When you have to sign on the dotted line....
Be careful they know what they want
Your the turkey dinner at Thanksgiving
And they are the dehydrated vampires
Coming for you
Don't be mistaken they will not leave till
There is nothing left but the remains of an old corpse
We once called you
This is reality my friend
Run
Run fast
Don't let the Debt man catch you
