OUR CLOCK represents the last seven years of the "Common Era" (C.E. or A.D. Anno Domini) traditionally reckoned as the era following the conception or birth of Jesus of Nazareth, with C.E. counting the years since the start of this epoch.

THE TIME on the "Prophetic Clock", is shown as "7 minutes 'till Midnight", reflecting the last seven years of this age, which is the point in time that we are rapidly approaching now.

"And at midnight a cry was heard: ‘Behold, the bridegroom [ Christ the Lord ] is coming; go out to meet him!’" (Matthew 25: NKJ)

This of course referring to the seven years of the "Great Tribulation Period", the final end of this age and the start of the next, the coming Kingdom of Christ on Earth for the next 1000 years. The time on the clock will ONLY change when that day finally arrives; until the final minutes start counting down it will remain at (11:53 C.E.).

This IS NOT the "Doomsday Clock" either (at least not for the "saved" believers), but reflects a time for great rejoicing in the next age that is coming and a message of hope and salvation for the rest of the world; to those who have not found the love and grace of the Lord God yet.

Vanishing American Footprint

Creators Syndicate - With his order to effect the execution of Osama bin Laden by Navy SEALs, 40 miles from Islamabad, without asking permission of the government, Barack Obama made a bold and courageous decision. Yet, as one looks to the Maghreb and Middle East, to the Gulf and Pakistan, events of this historic year point to an inexorable retreat of American power and the American presence.

Relations are close to the breaking point. Mobs are burning American flags. Angry congressmen are talking of cutting off aid to Pakistan for disloyalty and duplicity in hiding bin Laden. Pakistanis are enraged Americans would trample on their sovereignty like that.

Even before Sunday's killing of Osama, Pakistan's prime minister had reportedly told Hamid Karzai in Kabul to let the Americans leave on schedule in 2014, and let Pakistan and China help him cut his deal with the Taliban. In the long run, this is likely to happen. The "Great Game" will go on in Afghanistan, but without Western players — only Iran, Russia, China, Pakistan and India.

In the other two critical Islamic nations in the region, Turkey and Egypt, we see a similar unraveling of ties to Washington. Turkey has been going its own way since she refused George W. Bush permission to use Turkish bases to invade Iraq. Ankara has become less secular and more Islamic, and begun to highlight her identity as a Middle Eastern nation.

Indeed, taking inventory after four months of Arab revolts, it is difficult not to declare America a net loser.

Evidence at bin Laden’s Home Raises Nuclear Concerns

Pakistani government links suspected - Intelligence analysts are sifting through phone numbers and email addresses found at Osama bin Laden’s compound to determine potential links to Pakistani government and military officials while U.S. officials and analysts raise concerns about the safety of Pakistan’s nuclear materials.

"My concern now is that we cannot exclude the possibility that officers in the Pakistani military and the intelligence service were helping to harbor or aware of the location of bin Laden," said Olli Heinonen, who served as the deputy director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) from 2005 to 2010.

"What is to say they would not help al Qaeda or other terrorist groups to gain access to sensitive nuclear materials such as highly enriched uranium and plutonium?"

Ahmadinejad Allies Charged With Sorcery

Iranian power struggle between president and supreme leader sees arrests and claims of undue influence of chief of staff. Close allies of Iran's president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have been accused of using supernatural powers to further his policies amid an increasingly bitter power struggle between him and the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Several people said to be close to the president and his chief of staff, Esfandiar Rahim Mashaei, have been arrested in recent days and charged with being "magicians" and invoking djinns (spirits). Ayandeh, an Iranian news website, described one of the arrested men, Abbas Ghaffari, as "a man with special skills in metaphysics and connections with the unknown worlds".

Khamenei's supporters believe that the top-level confrontation stems from the increasing influence of Mashaei, an opponent of greater involvement of clerics in politics, who is being groomed by Ahmadinejad as a possible successor.

But the feud has taken a metaphysical turn following the release of an Iranian documentary alleging the imminent return of the Hidden Imam Mahdi – the revered saviour of Shia Islam, whose reappearance is anticipated by believers in a manner comparable to that with which Christian fundamentalists anticipate the second coming of Jesus.

U.S. Intelligence: Al-Qaida Considered 9-11 Anniversary Attack

U.S. officials say an initial review of documents seized from Osama bin Laden's compound shows al-Qaida considered carrying out a terrorist plot against the United States on the 10th anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

A Homeland Security Department document obtained Thursday by U.S. news organizations says al-Qaida considered an operation against trains at an unspecified location in the United States. The document says al-Qaida thought about tampering with rail tracks so a train would fall off the tracks in a valley or over bridge.

This information appears to be the first widely circulated intelligence stemming from the raid Sunday by an elite U.S. Navy SEAL team on bin Laden's compound in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad. In the raid, the Navy SEALs killed bin Laden and took documents and other valuable intelligence information.

VIDEO - An imam from the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem vowed to take revenge over "the western dogs" for killing Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in Pakistan on Sunday. In the Youtube video uploaded by the imam he said: "The western dogs are rejoicing after killing one of our Islamic lions. From Al-Aqsa Mosque, where the future caliphate will originate with the help of God, we say to them – the dogs will not rejoice too much for killing the lions. The dogs will remain dogs and the lion, even if he is dead, will remain a lion."

"We are a nation of billions, a good nation. We'll teach you about politics and military ways very soon, with god's help," he vowed.

About 25 people holding pictures and posters of bin Laden rallied outside a Gaza City university. The crowd included al-Qaeda sympathizers as well as students who said they opposed bin Laden's ideology, but were angry at the US for killing him and consider him a martyr.

Supreme Leader: Europe to Experience Islamic Awakening Soon

TEHRAN (FNA)- Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei stressed on Wednesday that popular uprisings and revolutions sweeping the Middle-East and North of Africa at present will soon spread to the European continent. "This awakening move will certainly advance to the very heart of the Europe and the European nations will rise against their politicians and rulers who have fully surrendered to the US and the Zionists' cultural and economic policies," he said.

"The current awakening shows the profoundness of the Iranian nation's great move and if we want it to continue with the same speed and power, we should activate talents, breed resistant people, strengthen faith, insight, awareness and knowledge and further consolidate unity and integrity," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

In relevant remarks earlier this year, a prominent American analyst had said that the wave of Erhal revolutions in the Middle-East and North Africa is now growing to the European continent, stressing that the popular uprisings in the Arab states serve as a role model for the European people who have just started protests against their corrupt leaders.

U.S. Officials Warn Terrorism Threat Remains Post-bin Laden

As Americans reacted to the news of Osama bin Laden's killing by U.S. commandos, officials warned that the al-Qaida leader's death in a firefight in Pakistan does not remove the threat of terrorist attacks. Bin Laden's killing by American elite forces closes a chapter in the war on terrorism, but officials say the battle against al-Qaida and other terrorist groups will continue.

The successful raid in the Pakistan city, Abbotabad in the early hours Monday led President Obama to declare that "justice has been done." United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called it a "watershed moment." But French President Nicolas Sarkozy cautioned that this is not the end of al-Qaida and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said the fight will not end with bin Laden's death.

Cleric: Jihad Coming to 'Heart of America' - Al-Qaida Revenge Attacks to Have 'Devastating Effect'

The death of Osama bin Laden will bring a "new era of jihad," predicted British extremist cleric Anjem Choudary. Warning there are motivated jihadists "in the heart of America," Choudary said al-Qaida will likely carry out revenge operations with "meticulous accuracy" and "devastating affect" comparable to that of the 9/11 attacks.

Choudary is the founder and former chief of two Islamic groups disbanded by the British authorities under anti-terror legislation.

Speaking today in an interview with "Aaron Klein Investigative Radio" of New York's WABC Radio, Choudary said that while bin Laden was a "lion of Islam … there are many lions waiting to take his place."

Arab MK Denounces Bin Laden 'Murder'

MK Ibrahim Sarsoor of the extremist Arab list Ra'am Ta'al called the assassination of Osama Bin Laden a "murder" and said that it was carried out as part of Barack Obama's preparations for the next presidential elections. "The mixing of Arab and Muslim blood into election campaigns in the U.S. and Israel is no longer uncommon," the Islamist Sarsoor said in a statement to the press. "Anyone who follows the cycle of blood and elections in American-Israeli culture in the last ten years will see it clearly and without a doubt."

Sarsoor said that it would be a mistake to ignore the reasons that caused Al-Qaeda and other jihadi groups to choose an extremist line. The reasons, he explains, are the oppression of Arabs by regimes that are propped up by the West and the West's support for Israel over "Palestine" and the Al Aqsa mosque (the mosque built by Muslims at the spot where the Jewish Temple stood - ed.).

These causes will continue to be the reasons for the hatred felt by most of the Arab world toward the US, the West and Israel, and will bring about movements that "sometimes err as they wage the legitimate struggle with injustice and its causes."

Islamist Leader in Pakistan: Bin Laden's Martyrdom Will Not Be in Vain

Hafiz Mohammad Saeed, leader of the violent Lashkar-e-Taiba group, tells followers that the slain al-Qaida leader is a 'great person' who will continue to serve as source of strength and encouragement for Muslims around the world.

The founder of one of Pakistan's most violent Islamist militant groups has told Muslims to be heartened by the death of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden, as his "martyrdom" would not go in vain, a spokesman for the group said on Tuesday. "Martyrdoms are not losses, but are a matter of pride for Muslims," Saeed said. "Osama bin Laden has rendered great sacrifices for Islam and Muslims, and these will always be remembered."

Lashkar-e-Taiba, one of the largest and best-funded Islamist militant organizations in South Asia, is blamed for the November 2008 assault on Mumbai, which killed 166 people in India's commercial hub. Its founder, Saeed, now heads an Islamic charity the United Nations says is a front for the militant group.

U.K. Vigilance Urged After Osama Bin Laden Death

Britons have been urged to be vigilant in the wake of the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden, with embassies worldwide ordered to review security. Prime Minister David Cameron hailed the death as "a great success" but said it was not the end of terror threats.

Downing Street said: "The prime minister made clear in the conversations that Britain would continue to work extremely closely with both Afghanistan and Pakistan to tackle the terrorist threat from al-Qaeda and from the Taliban." The Foreign Office has urged Britons overseas to "exercise caution in all public places and avoid demonstrations, large crowds of people and public events".

"This is a very serious blow to al-Qaeda, but like any organisation that has suffered a serious blow, they will want to show in some way that they are still able to operate." Home Secretary Theresa May said Bin Laden's death was "an important and significant development in the struggle against global terrorism" but there was still a "real and serious threat".

Those who follow Bin Laden may now wish to show that the death of their leader has not affected their ability to pursue his agenda of violence. Pakistan's main Taliban faction has already threatened to attack the country's rulers and the US and the Foreign Office has urged Britons overseas to "exercise caution". Many groups affiliated to al-Qaeda - like the offshoot in Yemen which has been most active in recent months - will be barely affected by Bin Laden's death operationally.

India Says Pakistan is 'a Terror Sanctuary'

The killing of Osama bin Laden near Islamabad is proof that "terrorists belonging to different organisations find sanctuary in Pakistan", Indian Home Minister P Chidambaram says.

President Obama's statement that the Al-Qaeda leader was killed in Abbotabad "deep inside Pakistan" was a matter of "grave concern", he said. The minister urged Pakistan to arrest those behind the 2008 Mumbai attacks. India has blamed the attacks on Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba group.

After initially denying the charge, Pakistan later admitted that some of the attacks were planned on its territory. Ten gunmen attacked multiple targets in Mumbai, killing more than 165 people.

Hamas Chief: We Will Coordinate All Decisions Regarding Israel With Fatah

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Hamas leader defends his organization's right to wage an armed struggle against Israel. Hamas leader Khaled Meshal said Saturday that his movement will make all decisions regarding the struggle against Israel, including if and when to use violence, in coordination with the West Bank leading faction Fatah.

Speaking from Cairo, just days after the Hamas-Fatah reconciliation agreement was signed, Meshal said that the best way to achieve their goals was through agreement with the Palestinian Authority lead by President Mahmoud Abbas.

The rival Palestinian movements Fatah and Hamas agreed Wednesday to reconcile and form an interim government ahead of elections in September, after a four-year feud, in what both sides hailed as a chance to start a fresh page in their national history.

Israel said the accord, which was brokered in secrecy by Egypt, would not secure peace in the Middle East and urged Abbas to carry on shunning the Islamist movement, which has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007 after ousting Fatah in a civil war.

Western powers have always refused to deal with Hamas because of its refusal to recognize Israel and renounce violence.

Hamas and Fatah plan to Begin Implementing Unity Pact Next Week

Leaders of Islamist movement to meet Abbas to kick-start procedures for reconciliation, after signing deal in Cairo to mend four-year rift. Leaders of the Islamist Hamas group will meet Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas next week to start work on implementing their Egyptian-brokered reconciliation deal, a senior Hamas official said on Wednesday.

The unity deal calls for forming an interim government to run the West Bank, where Abbas is based, and the Gaza Strip, and prepare for long-overdue parliamentary and presidential elections within a year. "The state of Palestine must be born this year," he said.

Palestinians view reconciliation as an essential step toward presenting a common front at the United Nations and a reflection of a deep-seated public desire to end the internal schism amid popular revolts that have swept the Arab world. But the deal presents potential diplomatic problems for Abbas aid-dependent Palestinian Authority. Much of the West shuns Hamas over its refusal to recognise Israel, renounce violence and accept interim Israeli-Palestinian peace deals.

'Fatah-Hamas Unity a Blow to Peace, Victory for Terrorism'

LONDON – The signing of the Hamas-Fatah unity deal in Cairo is a setback for peace – and an advancement for terrorism – Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu told reporters in London on Wednesday. In signing this deal, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas had "embraced" an organization that had condemned the American operation against the al-Qaida leader and called him a "great martyr," the Israeli prime minister said.

"When he embraces this organization, which is committed to Israel’s destruction and fires rockets on our cities, this is a tremendous setback for peace and a great advancement for terror," Netanyahu said.

He spoke before a meeting set for late Wednesday night with British Prime Minister David Cameron. Israeli officials said Netanyahu hoped to persuade Cameron to promise that the UK would not support the deal unless Hamas accepted the three principles set out by the Quartet for international recognition of the Islamist movement: that Hamas recognize Israel, renounce terrorism and abide by the PLO’s agreements with Israel.

Hamas refused to do so.

Hamas Slams Killing of 'Holy Warrior' Osama bin Laden

The Palestinian Islamist group Hamas on Monday condemned the killing by U.S. forces of Osama bin Laden and mourned him as an "Arab holy warrior."

"We regard this as a continuation of the American policy based on oppression and the shedding of Muslim and Arab blood," Ismail Haniyeh, head of the Hamas administration in the Gaza Strip, told reporters. Though he noted doctrinal differences between bin Laden's al-Qaida and Hamas, Haniyeh said: "We condemn the assassination and the killing of an Arab holy warrior. We ask God to offer him mercy with the true believers and the martyrs."

The PA's comments came following an announcement by U.S. President Barack Obama late Sunday, saying that bin Laden, the al-Qaida leader who masterminded the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States is dead and the U.S. had recovered his body.

Netanyahu: World Must Stop Those Wishing to Destroy the Jewish People

Speaking at Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in Jerusalem's Yad Vashem memorial, Prime Minister says Israel must be prepared to defend itself modern enemies, such as Iran and its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas. Referring further on the ability to anticipate coming catastrophes, Netanyahu said that while "many in the world, at least in the enlightened world, treat the memory of the Holocaust respectfully and seriously," that attitude, however, "recalls generals preparing for the previous war."

"Because today, new enemies are rising, and as they deny the Holocaust, call for the destruction of our people," the PM said, adding that "Iran, and its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas are openly working to destroy the Jewish state."

The second lesson, according to the premier, "stems from the fact that attacks on our people were always preceded by waves of hatred which prepared the ground for those attacks," insisting on the need "to expose the true face of the hate against our people."

The third and final lesson the premier discussed in his speech was the need for the Jewish people to take its defense in its own hands, saying: "We cannot hand over our fate to the hands of others."

Egypt Calls on U.S. to Recognize Palestinian State

Egyptian Foreign Minister Nabil al-Arabi on Sunday called on the United States to recognize a Palestinian state, as rival Palestinian factions prepare to sign a reconciliation accord in Cairo. Arabi urged visiting US Congressman Steve Chabot to "press Congress and the American administration to recognize a Palestinian state."

Palestinian factions are preparing to sign a deal in Cairo on Wednesday after President Mahmoud Abbas's Fatah faction and its bitter foe Hamas agreed to form a government that would prepare for elections in a year.

Palestinians: Jerusalem is Already Ours

While Israelis from the right and left of the political spectrum argue over the future of Jerusalem, Palestinian leaders say the eastern half of the holy city is already in their hands.

In his weekly radio address last week, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad announced that his government would soon resume administrative duties in eastern Jerusalem neighborhoods. The move is a direct violation of the Palestinians' signed agreements with Israel, which prohibit Palestinian administrative activity in Jerusalem. It is seen as part of the new Palestinian Authority strategy of unilaterally seizing control of the lands it claims and winning international backing for sovereignty over them.

Giant Asteroid Heading Close to Earth

A giant asteroid weighing 55 million tonnes will just miss the Earth later this year, Nasa experts have predicted. The rock, which is quarter of a mile across, will pass between our planet and the moon in November and will be visible with small telescopes.

If it were to hit the earth, the asteroid, named YU55, would have an impact equivalent to 65,000 atom bombs and would leave a crater more than six miles wide and 2,000ft deep. Passing by at a distance of just 201,000 miles, the asteroid will be the largest object ever to approach the earth so close.

There are currently 874 near earth asteroids which are considered to be potentially dangerous. They are closely monitored and the list is being constantly added to as astronomers discover new objects in near space.

Mississippi River Reaching Record Levels

(CBS/AP) - Thousands of people living along the Mississippi are evacuating their homes for higher ground, as the river approaches levels not seen in decades. Many more people are waiting for word on whether they should leave. River levels are already higher than the great floods of 1927 and 1937. In eight states, communities that live by the river now live in it.

It has already begun in Memphis, where there has been some flooding downtown - and the Mississippi doesn't even crest there until Wednesday.

"The whole summer will have to be watched," said J. David Rogers, a civil engineer at the Missouri University of Science and Technology.

Entire Illinois Town Evacuated Due To Flood Waters

CAIRO, IL — Nearly all three thousand residents of Cairo, Illinois evacuated Saturday night as flood waters neared the top of a levee that officials hope will hold back record high water on the Mississippi River. The downstate town is where the Mississippi River and the Ohio River meet. The town's mayor ordered the evacuation out of fears that the levees could break and send up to twelve feet of water into the town.

Moderate Earthquakes Strike Mexico, Alaska, Japan

Moderate earthquakes struck in Mexico, Alaska and Japan on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The first earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.8 struck in southwestern Mexico, in the state of Guerrero, according to the USGS. The Mexican Seismological Service put the magnitude at 5.5. Many people exited the buildings they were in, but there were no immediate reports of damage. Then a 5.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded on the Alaska Peninsula 14 miles south of Sand Point, Alaska and 573 miles southwest of Anchorage. It was followed by a 6.1 earthquake that hit below the sea floor off the coast of the Japanese island of Honshu Thursday.

Kazakhstan Jolted by 5th Earthquake in Last Twenty-four Hours

Two more earthquakes measuring 3.4 and 4.8 points on the Richter scale were registered in southeast Kazakhstan on Sunday, bringing the total number of tremors to five in the last twenty-four hours, the European Mediterranean Seismological Center reported. The first earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 points struck southeast Kazakhstan at 08:31 a.m. local time on Sunday, with its epicenter located 76 km (47 miles) to the northeast of Almaty at a depth of 20 km.

There is a Message of HOPE for the WORLD!

Even though everything we have discussed and shown thus far seems to depict a tragic and fateful end for our world, that is actually NOT THE CASE! The state of humanity's existence does not end in chaos or complete destruction at this time. Nor will these events leave the whole world in a panicked state of confusion, always to be frustrated in futile attempts trying to achieve a Utopian existence. The "Great Tribulation" period is only for a few short years and is merely a transitional period at end of an age. A NEW AGE IS COMING immediately thereafter!

"...SEE THAT YOU ARE NOT TROUBLED; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." (Matthew 24:6 NKJ)

"All these are the beginning of birth pains [sorrows]." (Matthew 24:8 NIV-KJV)

This is probably the most accurate representation of the entire "Great Tribulation" event. "Birth pains" are very discomforting and often quite painful. A new birth involves "labor" which is an extremely strenuous and exhausting process (ask any woman who has endured this). The end result however, is "relief" from this labor and suffering because a "new life" is then born!

That is exactly what will transpire in this world. We are in the final chapter of an old and worn out age of civilization. A grand and glorious new age lies directly ahead for those of us that endure and have accepted the Lord God.

"These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne will spread his tent over them. Never again will they hunger; never again will they thirst. The sun will not beat upon them, nor any scorching heat. For the Lamb at the center of the throne will be their shepherd; he will lead them to springs of living water. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."
(Revelation 7:14-17 NIV)

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT OF ALL THESE PROPHECIES

Therefore, these sometimes frightening words of prophecy are really a harbinger of hope to those who are searching for God today. It is through the belief that Christ died for our sins (John 3:16) and faith in His second coming (1 Thessalonians 4:14-18), that we are all "saved" and will enter into the coming Kingdom of Heaven along with Him.

"For the grace of God has appeared that offers SALVATION TO ALL PEOPLE. It teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope - the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ." (Titus 2:11–13 NIV)

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen." (Revelation 22:20-21)
