Government "Perks", Free Health Care, the Supreme Court, and the war on Poverty

Updated on February 8, 2014

The Ongoing U.S. Government shame

Government corruption is running rampant.

The politicians we elect to serve the public only tend to serve themselves.

Everyone is expected to sacrifice something to our economic downturn except the politicians and the wealthy?

What's up with that?

Perk and Government Waste

Government "Perks"

There seems to be a 'freeze' on everything these days, except:

  • job loss
  • equal pay for women in the work place
  • the insane mandating of women's rights to choose what they do with their own bodies - as if those old fogies in Washington (men) think they know best
  • and the continuing right wing attacks on the gay community.

People are not really as stupid as these politicians and their wealthy benefactors would like to believe we are.

They just count on our apathy, and indifference to be able to do what ever they want without any challenges by the people. And so far it has been working in their favor.

There will never be an end to those 'earmarks' tacked onto every single bill that is introduced. Nothing ever changes. Even after all those campaign promises to stop these, they are still there.

There must be a solution to stop those politicians from receiving their annual raises for doing nothing, when social security recipients are denied the annual cost of living raises, as mandated by law.

The politicians have voted themselves:

  • high costly wages
  • private free health benefits
  • exorbitant retirement benefits for life, after serving one term only
  • and they continue to protect the wealthy; by representing them, instead of the common people.

Our taxes are currently paying these thieves to represent the wealthy - not the American citizens.

Retirement benefits

They have voted themselves excessive retirement benefits while threatening to reduce social security benefits, dismantle it, or worse - turn it over to their thieving wealthy benefactors to suck those funds dry too.

Billions, or trillions, of dollars are being thrown away on these excessive retirement packages.

Money wasted.

Politicians should be placed on social security benefits, with the same rules and guide lines as all other hard working decent Americans are. We would see some immediate back peddling from them about their present attitudes towards social security, medicare, medicaid, etc...

You can be sure if they get their way and privatize social security, that the retirement benefits for themselves will not be changed in any way except to increase them.

When they use social security (expenses) as a running campaign topic they are twisting the facts and making untrue allegations.

See the short video by one of the GOP revered saints.

Free Health Care

Free health care for government officials?

There is little wonder why they have no interest in health care reform.

Insurance monsters (oops i meant monopolies) are the richest, most powerful and greedy entities in this world.

(In the state of Florida, you cannot even get a drivers license anymore with out paying the insurance company their blood money first.).

The DMV will not issue any license without proof of insurance".

And today conservatives are using the requirement to purchase health insurance as if it were some kind of a crime against the people.

This government has never hesitated to mandate higher taxes, or restrictive licenses, etc...for any reason that benefits Corporate America.

So what makes this Affordable Health Insurance Act so different?

Because it takes the total power to control the health care of ever citizen away from the insurance moguls. And these moguls are the very corporate thieves who subsidize the GOP today. The very groups that the supreme court has deemed same status as the individual, with the exception of requiring them to pay their fair share of taxes.

Insurance companies

are the perfect example of the old saying:

Absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Too big to fail? ( Only in the eyes of the wealthy). Make no mistake about that falsehood.

If AIG had been allowed to fail/fall/crumble/disintegrate/dissolve/die, this world would have been a much better place with that ending.

There are thousands of smaller, less greedy, insurance providers that would have been happy to pick up the slack and share those huge net profits that only went into private pocketbooks, instead of back into the economy.

This so called "bail out" was strictly for the benefit of Corporate profits, certainly not for the benefit of the American people.

We Need to Get Rid of the Dinosaurs in Washington

The Corrupt Supreme Court

One of the biggest questions we should all be asking ourselves is:

  • How did this country end up with a supreme court that would sooner protect the corporate monster than serve the people? And giving themselves a "life time" job? When we see how they make decisions based on their political affiliations instead of the law, we can't even look forward to ousting them from their positions.

Their historically stupid, inane and idiotic ruling that a corporation has the same rights as an individual, has made a complete mockery out of our justice system and handed this government over to the wealthy on a silver platter.

I surely would like to know the price tag for that one.

There is no doubt in my mind that they were paid big bucks to pull that one off. These supreme court judges were wined, dined and paid to make that ruling, and the American people pays the penalty for it.

Some of these justices are still meeting with their wealthy benefactors behind closed doors.

They should be ousted for that alone.

Those shielded from harm

Neither the politicians, nor their wealthy benefactors, have been affected by this economic downward spiral.

They just keep on getting their high salaries, their perks, free insurance, excessive retirement packages and on top of that - their bribery money.

Wow. i am sorry i did not go into politics years ago. Corporations and wall street fat cats are making record profits. The only group of Americans that have been hurt, and paying all those bills, are the working class, those on retirement benefits, those on disability benefits, and that proverbial war on poverty is now a war on the poor and needy themselves.

And now the state of Florida just passed a new law that allows employers to deny sick day benefits to their employees.

We must somehow stop this decadent Greed Machine running rampant across the country.

Or will it be impossible to ever re-create a government that all Americans can be proud of once again? A government that is once again for the people, and by the people.

I think that chapter has ended in this country.

And the new one does not include "the People" at all.
