   Do you have a right to complain if the guy in front you in an airplane keeps on reclining his seat?

   If it bothers you too much there is no harm in bringing it to his notice if not the hostess will be kind enough to do the needful. Alternatively you can request for another seat.
   It is more about how you choose to send the message across. .

   Friend; commercial air travel is the worst mode of transportation ever conceived. Honestly, unless the guy's seat is broken and is going too far back, you shouldn't say anything to him. I've come to the conclusion that first class is the basic standard for long-distance air travel. Coach is the "steerage" of the sky.

   The only time I've complained was when I had my daughter on my lap (she was 18 months and didn't have her own seat). It was already really tight and then the lady in front of me reclined. I didn't say anything to her until she kept turning around to give me dirty looks every time my daughter accidentally knocked her seat. Eventually I just said "What exactly do you expect when you recline your chair into a toddler?"
   
   But usually I don't say anything. I think it's rude to recline, but it is an option, and a lot of people go by the theory that the person behind them can just recline too if they need more space.
   
   I'd like to see the option taken away entirely. I've been on countless flights, several long-haul, and I've never reclined my seat.

   I do not recline, however it is an option , they bought a ticket and paid for that option. It is not against the rules. I say decide to deal with it, you knew when you took the flight this may happen. It is  part of traveling. People are getting so they just are not accommodating to each other. We all need to learn to adjust, and just go with the flow. If you are well enough to travel, you can do it. Remember: you/we have choices.

   Technically I would say the answer is no. The man is using the seat exactly in the way it was intended to be used.
   However if the chair is bumping against your knees it can't hurt to ask (in a nice way) if he would mind not reclining completely back (because) it's hitting your knees. Most people will work with you even though it's not their fault.
   Blame the airlines for squeezing in more seats to increase their revenues. They could have easily installed chairs that did not recline beyond a certain angle. It's the airlines responsibility to make sure their customers are happy not other passengers.

   none really. people are such babies. the tray is even designed in a way that is doesnt move much. i dont see why this is suddenly an issue. planes have had reclining seats pretty much since the first one.
