Why is Warren Buffett supporting Hillary Clinton for President?

He is known as the smartest investor who has made his fortune under our capitalist economic system. Yet, he is supporting a socialist progressive Democratic candidate who wants to tax the rich and believes big government will solve all our problems...In addition, supports a corrupt politician that has collected millions in speaking fees and has a Foundation that is under investigation and has lied repeatedly to the American people...
    Why is he doing this?

Probably because he believes that a Clinton presidency would be better for the world economy.

Income inequality and taxes are two themes Buffett speaks about frequently, and Clinton has addressed these issues with plans to increase taxes on the richest Americans, while raising the minimum wage. Buffett believes that these plans will be better for our economy, and the world economy.

Interesting take. Didn't Buffett avoid paying taxes on his own company...
Also, didn't he oppose the Keystone pipeline costing thousands of good paying jobs? While profitting from his rail company that deliver the same oil?

I agree, and it just seems like Hillary will keep the buffet system of profit going, while he can't be sure about how Trump will affect his fortune.
With Buffet it isn't the money but the win of being rich. He has disavowed his heirs.

Yes, I know he has donated his fortune to the Gates Foundation. The very same organization that is shoving Common Core down our public schools. The rich liberal elites always think they are the smartest in the room and knows best. Well they are human

Democrats don't want smart people they want voters who vote democrat. Common Core makes a lot of smart people stupid.

The Rich, including Buffet support Clinton because they own her. Her progressive rhetoric is nothing more than a scheme to get elected. A large mandatory minimum wage increase allows wealthy corporations to drive out even more small business. Clinton cares for nothing but satisfying her own ego.

That seems to join a lot of the dots. Remember, Hillary talking about the Benghazi deaths, They are dead, who cares.

Because she has been in favor of crony capitalism, giving big businesses favors in return for major campaign contributions or donations to her family foundation.

Warren Buffet makes business decisions that benefit him. So, after a lifetime of benefits for himself, one can hardly believe that his support of Hillary is for the benefit of the country. Buffet doesn't even favor his family, as opposed to say the Waltons who share their wealth among the family.

The question should be broaden to ask why so many wealthy foreign and domestic people and businesses are backing Clinton. These people don't care about the middle class, except to take advantage of them.

The Internal Revenue Code cannot be used by the middle class, and the poor don't pay taxes. So while the ostensible view is that the rich pay more taxes because of their higher marginal tax rate, what is not viewed is the deferment, the credits, the exclusions and other tax avoidance the are available to the rich through the Internal Revenue Code.

While they pay a lot, what is missed is how much they have made. Since 2008 Buffett and Gates has significantly increased their fortunes.

The real problem is the discriminatory effect from the federal income tax. It doesn't discriminate against the rich, it doesn't discriminate against the poor. But its total discrimination is against the middle class.

The middle class had most of their useful tax deductions taken away from them by the 1986 Tax Reform Act.

Again, Warrent Buffett does what he does for himself.

Warren Buffett is a crony capitalist of the worst kind. He was against the Keystone pipeline which would generate many jobs and create a safer energy delivery system for oil. Instead, he profits from the truck and rails that are doing the same thing.
He and Gates give Capitalism a bad name. They discourage competition and uses government to get their way legally.
He also supports raising the tax rates on all of us and yet, he uses legal loopholes to avoid paying his own taxes.

Why do people think he is a smart investor? And pay money to have lunch with this guy...?
He and Gates donate billons to the charitable foundation they created. Again, they profit by getting tax breaks. If they really want to help, they should do it without the tax exempt status of the 501c which is abused all day long as the Clinton Foundation have shown.

In addition, these foundations are for "helping" people outside of the US, while they both made billions in the US. They also use the rich person code of taxes, called Internal Rev Code. Only the rich can benefit from it. 1986 TRA lost our deduc
