Why do conservative idolize Ronald Reagan and then consistently mis-characterize his position?  Ex. -- on Taxes, Religion and Abortion???

I meant both. I had that guy for eight years as governor and eight years as president. Talk about hell on earth. He had a ringing ear so bad that he had to have a hearing aid to hear anything.
Would drive anybody nuts. Personally I think he was a good originally. Think it was his wife. He didn't have a clue.

Agreed, and the irony of all this is he could not get nominated in today's Republican party

Why don't you think he could?

He was reasonable and pragmatic.  Today he would be derided as a RINO.

Reasonable about what, as opposed to today's Republican Presidential hopefuls?
...He spoke against abortion, socialism, communism, didn't he?
(I didn't keep up with politics much during his time in Office, so I'm curious as to how you think he compares to today's politicians.  Please explain further?)

Where are the points of your questions?

Why do right wing Republicans lionize someone who they would not agree with today.  Grover Norquist would be all over him ....
