As a writer, I want to make a difference.  Whether it is by making someone laugh, helping someone to look at an issue from a fresh perspective or educating someone with something new, I want to make that difference.  I am blessed with avid curiosity which makes me read and want to educate myself as well as others.  As a person, I always try to put myself in the other person's shoes and that helps me to gain my own perspective.

 I came to Hubpages as a result of wanting to educate the public about for-profit colleges, also known as career colleges or technical colleges.  These colleges offer "diplomas," certificates and associate degrees in various trades such as massage therapy, cosmetology, court reporting and many more.  Though there are some good for-profit schools out there, many are not.  My goal is to educate the public into doing their homework before they end up owing thousands of dollars in student loans with no education to pay for it.  For-profit schools are the biggest waste of government tax dollars that go straight into the bank accounts of major corporations and private equity groups.  This is due to the fact that, in most cases, credits received at these schools do not transfer even to other similar programs at other for-profit colleges.  It pays to do your homework when choosing the best for-profit college.  Start here with my articles for an eye opening read into the practices of for-profit colleges.
