Kind Regards on HubPages
Hello to Everyone!
It is wonderful to be here. I have done quite a bit of surfing through your profiles and hubs before joining, so I am thrilled to be part of this. I think I was this excited when I first discovered StumbleUpon, and that is precisely how I found HubPages.
I have traveled all throughout the lower 48 states and Canada, and I've lived in about a dozen of them. I've slowed down quite a bit, although I will be heading out again to do some freelancing on the road starting in November of 2010. I can't pass up the opportunity of not being tied to an office, so I'm combining travel and work. If you want to follow my adventures, click on the link at the bottom for Ozarks Crescent Mural.
I am so tired of my own picture, but if you're anything like me and you want to know what someone looks like, you can find me at Facebook and StumbleUpon. I'm really active on Facebook, so stop on by, and let's be friends.
Traveling, let's see. I spent quite a few years in California right out of college, all over that coast, north to south, and New York City and Boston. Oh, and New Orleans too, which feels like you've left the U.S. because it's so different. I've also lived in small towns and completely off the grid in the wilderness.
I grew up in both the Rocky Mountains and the Great Plains, but I feel fulfilled and complete with the west. It is so beautiful and there's nothing like it. But having lived for so many years in the mountains, on the coast and in the desert, I did it. Now I am lucky to have found these other regions that have my passion and fascination.
One of my first loves is New England. I absolutely adore Boston. I enjoyed such a perfect life there in the 90s. I lived on Beacon Hill and I walked across the hill to work, through the Boston Common and Downtown Crossing, and then on down to Fort Point Channel. Ideal.
I never would've guessed that one of the most beautiful and incredible places for me would turn out to be the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. I've lived off the grid there, meaning no electric or water or nearby towns. A totally amazing way of life. There's nothing like it. I will be at Norfork Lake in Arkansas for the four months of winter coming up. I'm looking forward to my stay in The Natural State.
There are five unique features to the Ozarks that set it apart. One is the size of the mountains. In my opinion, the ideal size. Second is the winding highways, ribbon roads, I call them. It looks like G*D dropped a girl's ribbons out of the sky and where they landed is where they made roads. I love to drive and it is the absolute funnest driving experience to be found. Third is the clear, clean aqua blue waters of the creeks and rivers, more pure than any water anywhere. Fourth, the woods, the oak forests. So beautiful. And finally, the folks that live there. Nicest people I've ever met.
I like to write the occasional article and HubPages has such a good vibe and a wonderful community. I like the delightful and interactive publishing program. I originally taught myself basic HTML so I could create web pages, which turned out to be simple, fulfilling and useful. If you want to see my HTML in action, visit Studio East.
It's obvious I am interested in places and travel. I also enjoy images, entertainment, real estate, land, people, art and whatever else, you never know. I prefer to live in a positive, friendly, welcoming and warm environment, so thank you for reading. Relax and enjoy yourself here.
Kind Regards
