BayAreaGreatThings- or BAGT- "In real life- I'm a cartoon"

The San Francisco Bay Area of California is a unique place to call home.  As a freelance writer and photographer, I find constant inspiration everywhere.  I live in a diverse area- from people and lifestyles, to activities and scenery.

The diversity in my surroundings affords a grand buffet of adventures all available in the same day.  You can go from talking a long walk on the beach to driving through miles of farmland (within 45 minutes), while stopping in the middle to enjoy a mountainous coastal redwood vista.

Some of my favorite things- God, Laughing, Eating, Cooking, Travel, Adventure, Photography, Mystery, Family, Good Friends, Ducks, Games, Exploring, Treasure Hunting, Movies, Love, Art,Sunrise, the Ocean, Comfortable Shoes, Coffee, tea, Good Red Wine (not cheap stuff), Fuzzy Blankets, Campfires, Handmade stuff, Reading, River Rafting, Flying, Theater, Music and of course- Writing....and then Laughing some more....I really love life!

My passions in life are Art, Christian Theology, and Relationships. My education and experiences have afforded me wonderful insights into these subjects, while still leaving me with questions that I seek answers to daily. 

What I share in my writings-

Theology- I was raised in a Christian home and that gave me a solid foundation for my faith.  I began following Christ at age 7.  As i grew older, however, I realized that I had many questions that either, the answers given were unsatisfactory, or seemed somehow incomplete. 

Traditions often seemed to outweigh truth. Therefore, I have been a life long seeker of Biblical truth, both formally and informally.  Much of my theology may cause a little stir as it tends to rub against many traditional grains.  I want to always stay humble and teachable, so I am learning along this journey.  I won't, however, accept things as "truth" because it is the way it has "always been done".  (I think the Pharisees did that if I recall).

I love the Lord with all my heart, all my mind, and all my strength and i love those who God places in my path.  That pretty much sums up the core of my theology.

Art- I am a photographer.  My husband is an art teacher and studio artist.  We are surrounded by art in our lives and home.  I am so blessed to have opportunities to experience art everyday.

Relationships- Whew!! So much to write about.  I have raised children and step children.  I have been down the paths of bliss, joy, tragedy, and heartache.  I have easy access to a wonderful sister who is a Marriage and Family Counselor and I love seeking her wise advice.

Everything Else- On any given day, if I am not working on an assignment, something may inspire an indiscriminate writing on any topic that happens to be floating through my head at the moment.  Because I am incredibly curious about life in general, this curiosity causes me to explore important issues and random facts alike.  I like to share this with you!
